News Staff Corner:
What happened to our Connecticut Autumn? I guess summer just doesnt want to go away. Now that I have said this, you can
bet we are in for some colder weather. On a good note think of the fuel weve been saving!!! Enough about the weather, there
are plenty of club activities and local events to keep us occupied. Be sure to pay attention to the calendar of events and This
Months Club Events found later in this newsletter.
Newsletter ad subscribers watch the mail for the renewal letter for your ad subscription yearly payment. Current subscribers
have preference for the limited amount of ad space. Be sure to make any changes in your ad if you so desire, also please let us
know ASAP if you decide not to renew. This will allow us to take on new advertisers so that all ad spaces can be filled.
Remember, by filling all ad spaces the monthly newsletter can support itself.
All LAC Members Your yearly membership meeting is held at the end of January and at that time your yearly dues are to
be paid. If for some reason your dues obligations are in arears please make arrangements with our Treas. Bill Asmar or Asst.
Treas. Mark Chory so that your membership can remain intact.
Thoughts to Live By:
What is time? The shadow on the dial, the striking of the clock, the running of the sand, day and night, summer and winter,
months, years, centuries these are but arbitrary and outward signs, the measure of Time, not Time itself. Time is the Life of
the soul. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, American poet (1807-1882).
Find the good. Its all around you. Find it, showcase it and youll start believing it. Jesse Owens, Olympic gold medal track
and field athlete. (1913-1980).
A Little Humor:
An egotist is a person of low taste more interested in himself than in me. Ambrose Bierce, American author-journalist.
(1842-1914).
The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him. Stanislaw J. Lec, Polish writer
(1909-1966).
Member News:
Congratulations and thanks to Ghassan and Betty Najm for the excellent job in co-chairing the Annual LAC Persons of the
Year Awards Dinner. If you have not attended any of these dinners you have truly missed a remarkable evening. Events like
The Persons of the Year Dinner makes one feel the pride and honor of our Lebanese/Arabic Heritage. Again, thanks for a job
well done.
Best wishes to our members who are seeking elected office and Congratulations to those who have won on November 7th.
Health and Welfare:
Please keep in your prayers our ill members and/or their family members and wishing them speedy recovery. Notify Pres.
Mike Caravakis, whenever a member falls seriously ill by sending an email to caravakis@aol.com.

Remembering our deceased brother member

James Jowdy Sr.
A traditional honor guard of LAC members,
as he had participated in many before for
other deceased members, attended the funeral
services along with family and friends that
paid tribute to his legacy. He was a pillar in
our community and one of the greatest
generation. He will be greatly missed. Please
keep his family especially his wife
Jacqueline, in your thoughts and prayers.
May he rest in peace.
The 40 Day service will be held at St.
Anthonys Church on Sunday Nov. 26th to be
followed with a Meal of Mercy breakfast at
Church hall in his memory.
