Facts of the case:

The victim, Jefferson Taberdo, a resident of 12 Mauanay St., Bagay, Tuguegarao City,
Cagayan arrived at his home together with his friends at around 9:15 in the evening, September
20, 2017. They decided to drink liquor to ease out their stress in work, in the middle of drinking
alcohol, the victim, Jefferson Taberdo went inside his house to get his phone but he then
suddenly realize that was gone together with his laptop. He asks for help and he went out
together with his friends to ask for help and the vendor named Edward Borquillo stated that he
was present and personally saw the accused named Jaypee Soriano. The witness was selling at
his sari-sari store that time when the accused enter the house of the victim, also he saw the
suspect going out of the victims house together with the laptop and cellphone. They find the
suspect when they saw Police Officers patrolling in their village and they ask for help. They went
to the suspects house and as he opens the door, they saw the laptop on the top of the table, the
victim hurry to go inside the house and the Police Officers verify if it is the victims property. After
confirmation, the Police Officers arrest the accused and they went to the Police Station.
Respectively, the items stole were one (1) 64GB APPLE IPHONE 8PLUS worth fifty thousand
(Php50,000) and one (1) DELL LAPTOP worth twenty-five thousand (Php25,000) with the total of
seventy-five thousand (Php75,000).

The accused, Jaypee Soriano and the victim, Jefferson Taberdo live in the same village.
The accused reason for committing the crime was because of jealousy and lack of money. He was
just surprised when the Police Officers together with the victim proceed to his house. Seeing and
confiscating the gadgets, he immediately presented to the authorities for voluntary surrender
this September 2017.
