HISTORY.

In Colombia , on 8 and 9 June marks the day the fallen student , day of the revolutionary
student or student's day nationwide
The celebration commemorates the murder of several students from the National University
who in turn raised their voice of protest against acts of corruption of successive
governments and demand guarantees and freedoms for higher education in Colombia .
They are mainly two events that should be mentioned to understand the student's day in
Colombia .

The first dates back to 1929 when students of the National University of Colombia decide
to demonstrate against the conservative government of the time that was required to dismiss
officials and military personnel responsible for the slaughter of banana . In the evening of
that June 7 , police , kills Gonzalo Bravo Prez9 (some refer to it as Pez ) and causing two
injuries . On June 8 students together with community capital repudiate the fact a gigantic
march.

On June 8, 1954 during the dictatorship of Gustavo Rojas Pinilla , they commemorated 25
years of the events in 1929 , where students from various universities participated . In the
afternoon of that same day , in the territories of the National University , he was killed by
police medical student Uriel Gutirrez . The fact deeply shocked the student community of
the time and for that reason students choose to march towards the presidential palace the
next day, on June 9 . The demonstration was interrupted by the Colombia battalion
returning from the Korean War . In fact never fully clarified by the Colombian justice
system , the army opened fire on the demonstration producing more than a dozen dead.

PLAN FOR PARTY.

All unad students are invited to the commemoration of the Day of the student in order to
remind all those dreamers who one day died for a cause. The commemoration will begin at
08:00 pm in the meeting room where we can enjoy a delicious buffet lunch which will be
free.
