You are going to teach the following text to a Pre-Intermediate class. Read it, and then answer the questions
below.
QUESTIONS
1. Identify the problem sound in the word afraid, and then suggest how you would help your
students pronounce this sound correctly. (1.5pts)
2. How would you conduct choral repetition of this sentence? (1pt)
If you feel happy or sad or angry or afraid, you let other people know how you feel.
3. State how you would teach the forms and meanings of these items: express, frown (1.5pts)
4. Suggest one question you would ask to help your students both understand and use the items
correctly: depend on, feeling. (1.5pts)
5. Describe how you will introduce this text and suggest a suitable follow-up when you have
about 40 minutes left. (1.5pts)
6. Design an activity other than questions-and-answers to check comprehension of this reading
text. (1.5pts)
7. List two controlled writing activities often used for low-level learners. For each activity, give
three illustrative examples using the structure in the following sentence: Expressions on your
face also show how you feel. (1.5pts)
