PREGUNTAS

1. The house of the future (6 points)

Research about different types of houses in countries around the

world.

Adobe home

An adobe home is made of clay and usually built in places where the soil
consists of a lot of clay. For example, in the southwestern Peru, it is
common for native to build their houses out of adobe. The roofs of adobe
houses they are straw.

Igloo

Igloos are dome-shaped houses made of ice. In places where the weather
is below freezing for most of the year, an igloo is an ideal type of house.
To build an igloo, you first cut blocks of ice in particular shapes. Then you
can stack them, much like bricks, to create a dome.

Log cabin

A log cabin is a very basic type of wooden house. Instead of sawing or

milling lumber into planks, someone building a log cabin simply uses whole
logs. By flattening the sides of these logs, it is possible to stack them up
and create a closed structure.

Castle

In the past, the richest people in Europe lived in enormous houses called
castles. Today, most castles have been converted into museums so
everyone can see how kings and queens used to live.

Tepee (Native American's Tent)

Alberta, Canada

Tepees are the transferable cone shaped house of Native American who
move to live for hunting. When they move, they carry the poles on the
horses. The house is 3.5 to 5.5 meters high and there is the exhaust pipe
in the center of the house.

Houses on the Water

Sabah, Malaysia

The fishermen in Saba of Borneo Island live on the water. In the water
village, there are so many houses still now. They use the timber of
mangrove tree which has the durability against the sea water to build the
water house
Make a list of characteristics you would include in a house of the
future.

Smart Lighting
Geothermal pumps
Energy Conservation
Water Conservation
Solar Power
Healthy Air Quality
The Smart Thermostat.
Robotic Lawn Care
Smart Cookware
Automated Everything
Super Home Security
A Command Center

Ask yourself what features would be useful and in what situations.

1. THE SMART THERMOSTAT

Come in out of the cold to a cozy welcome, or cool a room to just the right
temperature in the sweltering summer. Forgetful folks will love the ability
to turn off the heat or AC remotely, even after leaving the house. The best
smart thermostats will pay for themselves pretty quickly in energy costs.

2. EASY HOME SURVEILLANCE

Maybe you want to know what your cat does all day, or you suspect your
neighbor has been swiping the newspaper off your doorstep. Whether
inside or out, home surveillance technology has gotten a lot smarter in
recent years. Todays cameras can be operated remotely via smartphone
and offer streaming video wherever you are. Translation: your own
personal cat channel.

3. SMART LIGHTING

The right lighting can make a huge difference in your quality of life. Studies
have shown that dim lighting can increase creativity, blue light increases
alertness, and red or pink lights make it easier to sleep. With the latest
smart bulbs, you can have it all at the tap of a button. Some programmable
lighting systems will even let you automate a burglar-deterring lighting
scheme for vacations to make it look like youre at home.

4. AUTOMATED EVERYTHING
You can move your home into the future even if youre not quite ready to
spring for a houseful of space-age technology. Get yourself a smart
switch, which can add remote-control capability to just about any device
or appliance. Simply plug them in and go about your business.
5. A COMMAND CENTER
Speaking of supervillains, whats a high-tech home without a talking
robotic assistant? Voice-activated command centers let you pull the
digital strings of all your time-saving, anxiety-easing gadgets without
getting off the couch. Psyched for the future yet? So are we.

Present your ideal house of the future with pictures and brief
explanations.

5 billion years, give or take);
it provides clean energy with
no greenhouse-gas
emissions

2. Your community in the future (6 points)
