Operations Certificate

Curriculum Overview
The Continuity of Governmental Operations Certificate is a
12-credit online certificate comprised of two, eleven-week
seminars of six credits each. Each seminar introduces you
to the most critical and relevant areas in business
continuity management, disaster management and
emergency preparedness today.

This course teaches all of the elements needed to develop a
continuity of operations plan for a governmental agency. The

Continuity of Governmental
Operations Certificate

Learning Outcomes
Students in the Certificate in Continuity of Governmental
Operations learn how to implement a Continuity of
Operations Program (COOP) at a governmental agency to
ensure its continued functioning during a disaster. The
concentration is appropriate for professionals with COOP
duties at all levels of government - Federal, State, and Local.

The certificate also prepares students for the FEMA


Professional Continuity Practitioners and Master Continuity
Practitioner certifications.

Credit or Non-Credit?
The certificate is offered as a credit or non-credit option. For either option, the following admissions
criteria are required: A bachelor's degree OR equivalent, 2.75 undergraduate GPA or GRE score, TOEFL
score of 550 or higher (if required), degree evaluation for foreign diplomas (if required), application
form and fee ($50 – non-refundable), case study agreement and resume.

By choosing the credit option you must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and you will be able to
apply your credits towards a Master’s level degree.
