PROGRAM RATIONALE (please review the Program Guidelines for directions):

This program of study includes the necessary requirements of the Education Leadership
concentration. It is my goal that as a result of this program, I will have the necessary credentials to
work towards a school based administration position in a public school in Fairfax County. The
Education Leadership concentration courses have been designed by George Mason University to be a
program that aims to prepare future education leaders as practitioners and in academia. Research
methods courses will allow me to meet the requirements of PhD study by preparing me for
independent research in the dissertation phase. My two advanced research methods courses align to
the nature of my projected research study.
Obtaining these credentials through the prescribed coursework will allow me to meet my future
professional goals and will also serve to meet the requirements for successful completion of a PhD
from George Mason University.
