Unit 6: Creating Digital Graphics

Task 1: P1, M1, D1

In this task, I will be explaining two graphic images. I will also describe what their purpose is
along with the recommended audience

Image 1: The Day After Tomorrow Advert

The purpose of this digital graphic is to
advertise a new film that is coming out into
cinemas/theatres. The intended audience for the
graphic is 12+ because it has an appearance that
something bad has happened via the ice on the
buildings, snow everywhere and the title could
link to the idea something has happened. The
feature that this image has are Patterns and
Texture. The image in my opinion is appropriate
because the title goes well with the colours and
composition. The effect this image will have on
the audience is that something is about to/has
already happened and they want to know how
the main characters are feeling during the, most
probably, disaster that has hit the city. The
message is that this might happen one day to
humans. The strengths of this poster are the text
goes well with the colour scheme and it sends out
a strong message. The negatives to it are the
catchphrase of Where will you be? The day after
tomorrow is a bit vague and it does not really
need to be there, the poster does enough work to
send out a message. It does not need another
message on top of that.

Image 2: Cadbury Poster for Carnival

The purpose of this digital graphic is to advertise
an event that is upcoming that is run by this
company. The intended audience is 15 and below
because that is the age where chocolate is eaten
the most. The features this poster has are
symmetry, patterns and texture. The product is fit
for purpose because the colours and composition
are the colours of the company and the text in
the logo makes it stand out from the rest of the
poster. The effect this has in the intended
audience is make them excited about the even
because of all the adjectives used. Some
examples include Choctastic, Wondifferent and
Liquidfferent. The message is to tell people that it
will be the Experience of your life and they
should come to the event to experience this so-
called experience. The positves of this poster are
the colour scheme and the text goes well with the
colour of the background. However, There is as
negative and this negative is that there are too
many adjectives.
