English 10 Romeo & Juliet Representing Assignment

Choose one of the following activities. They can be completed either individually or
with a partner.

1) Create a visual depiction of Mercutios Queen Mab speech from Act I, Scene 4.
It can be one visual that encompasses the entire speech, or several smaller
visuals that represent different aspects of the speech. Another possibility is a
comic strip that depicts the images described in the speech.

2) Create costume representations for at least 4 characters in the play. How do

you think they should look? Write an explanation for each fashion design
describing why you made the choices you did.

3) Create tattoo designs for at least three different characters. Please write an
accompanying paragraph for each of the characters which explains why the
tattoos are appropriate for her or him.

4) Create masks (or mask designs) for at least three different characters. These
masks would be designed to be worn at Capulets party at the end of Act I. Please
write an accompanying paragraph for each of the characters which explains why
the masks are appropriate for her or him.

5) Create 2 posters:

o Poster #1 will advertise a production of the play.

o Poster #2 will visually indicate the relationships between the many different
characters in the play, including who is affiliated with which family.
