Q# How many tests we can conduct in order to select people for


our Organization?

Selection is the process of screening applicants to ensure that the most appropriate candidate is hired.

The first step in the selection process is to review the information (resume, application form) provided by
all job applicants to determine which applicants meet the minimum qualifications as stated in the job
posting. No further consideration will be given to those who do not meet the minimum qualifications. Those
job applicants who meet or exceed the minimum job qualifications are then assessed to decide which ones
will be short-listed for a job interview.

To Select the Candidate we can conduct different types of tests in Organization:

Tests measure knowledge, skill, and ability, as well as other characteristics, such as personality traits.

Cognitive Test:
It measures the learning, understanding, and ability to solve problems. E.g. Intelligence Tests.
Personality Test:
It measures the patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior. E.g. Myers Briggs
Physical Ability Test:
It assesses muscular strength, cardiovascular endurance, and coordination.
Integrity Test:
It is designed to assess the likelihood that applicants will be dishonest or engage in illegal
activity.
Drug Test:
Normally requires applicants to provide required sample that is tested for illegal substances.
Work Sample Test:
Measures performance on some element of the job.
Aptitude Test:
A test designed to determine a person's ability in a particular skill or field of knowledge.
Achievement Test:
An achievement test is a test of developed skill or knowledge. The most common type
of achievement test is a standardized test developed to measure skills and knowledge learned in a
given grade level, usually through planned instruction, such as training or classroom instruction.
Medical Test:
A medical test is a kind of medical procedure performed to detect, diagnose, or monitor diseases,
disease processes, susceptibility, and determine a course of treatment.

Some situations include the following:

Current selection or placement procedures result in poor hiring decisions.


Employee productivity is low.
Employee errors have serious financial, health, or safety consequences.
There is high employee turnover or absenteeism.
Present assessment procedures do not meet current legal and professional standards.
