Soybeans Milk
Introduction:

Dairy milk is an animal based product. Soy milk is a plant-based product, an alternative for
dairy milk, produced by soaking dried soybeans, grinding them with water, boiling the mixture,
and filtering out the residues. Soya milk is a traditional staple of East Asian cuisine, used only
white soy beans for making soy milk, which is a stable emulsion of water and protein. Home
made soy milk is free from preservatives and additives.

Ingredients Requirements:

1. Soybeans 1 cup
2. Water 3 cups
3. Sugar as required

Soybeans soaked in water for 24 hours


Process Description:

1. Wash and clean the soybeans, pour water in a container and keep it soaked for 24 hours.
After 24 hours, discard the water from the container, rinse the soybeans well and remove the
skin as much as possible using both hands by rubbing it thoroughly.
2. Take the soaked skin removed soybeans in a blender jar. Add 3 cups of water and blend
on high till the soybeans are ground well. strain in a muslin cloth or a fine sieve and collect
the first extract, soya milk in a bowl.
3. The remains or residue in the sieve or muslin cloth is called okara which can be used for
other recipe.
4. Heat the soya milk in a pan using stove in medium flame for 10 15 minutes and stir well

continuously to prevent sticking. Filter it, cool the milk and add sugar as required. Thus, the
soya milk is ready. Enjoy it by consuming!
