eligible for this course. The seats are limited, and
the selection will be made on 'First come first serve'

Embarking in its 100 year, the Department of
Mechanical Engineering celebrated its Centenary
year in academic year 2012-13. Many of its
alumni occupy key positions in industries and
institutions in India as well as in abroad. The
department is proud to be collaborated with well
known industries in the sector. Department is
accredited by National Board of Accreditation
(NBA) for five years.
About the FDP:
Computational fluid dynamics is undergoing
significant expansion in terms of both number of
courses offered in the Institutes and number of
researchers active. There are number of software
packages available to solve the fluid flow and
heat transfer problems. CFD tools are slowly
being accepted as a design tools by industrial
users. Users of CFD need to be fairly
knowledgeable, which require education of
students, faculty and working engineers. The
present workshop is an attempt to fill this need
through theory and hands on practical's on
commercial package.
Course Contents/Highlights:
1. Governing equations of fluid flow and heat
transfer
2. Finite Volume Method (FVM) for diffusion
problems
3. FVM for convection problems
4. FVM for convection-diffusion problems
5. FVM for N-S and energy equation
6. Grid generation
7. Hand on sessions using ANSYS-CFD
Registration:
Applicants from AICTE approved engineering
Institute should forward applications to the
coordinator in the format attached before due
date. The candidates will be intimated regarding
their selection by email. The selected candidates
should forward their registration along with
caution deposit of Rs. 2000 by means of DD
drawn in favour of The Director, College of
Engineering, Pune payable at Pune. The above
amount will be refunded to the participants if
he/she attends the course. In case a participant
does not attend the course, the above amount
will be forfeited. Participants from Industries and
other organization may send the application
along with registration fee Rs. 4000/- to the
coordinator. The registration fee includes course
material, registration kit, tea and snacks and
lunch on all the days.
