The title of Senior Pastor refers to the person who primarily leads the church and is responsible for

working
with the church board, along with the preaching, teaching, and counseling ministries that go with the role
of a pastor. Some larger churches may even have an Executive Pastor who oversees the day-to-day
operation of the church. (Source: https://www.gotquestions.org/senior-pastor.html)

Some churches call a (senior) pastors wife First Lady (First Lady of the Church) or Lady + first and/or last
name. Othres just call her Mrs. + last name. Otherwise, the Pastor's wife is called just that, the "pastor's wife".

An Assistant Pastor is a pastor-in-training, and in most cases, they are awaiting full ordination.

An Associate Pastor is called and voted on by the congregation. An Assistant Pastor is called by the
Session (pastor and elders) and does not have to be voted on by the congregation.

A lay pastor, or a lay minister, is someone who is not ordained but who tends to a Christian community for
little or no money. Lay pastors do not have the same training or education as ordained ministers.

I suppose, the English equivalent for Pendeta Muda, as far as your church is concerned, is Lay Pastor /
Lay Minister instead of Junior Pastor / Minister as I wrote elsewhere in the past. Below is some more
information on lay pastors.

Lay Pastor - A lay pastor is a person who commits his or her life to the work of nurturing and shepherding
church members and other spiritually inclined people. A lay pastor may or may or may not receive
remuneration (depending upon their particular situation). Many do receive a stipend salary from their
local church. Typically, lay pastors have not received formal theological training and work in a part-time,
full-time capacity as additional staff under a senior pastor. Lay pastors are often used to help build up a
specific ministry or ministries within a church because the other pastors need more assistance.

Some of the possible duties of a lay pastor include:

1. Member visitation
2. Giving Bible studies
3. Planning and managing events
4. Teaching classes
5. Organizing ministry opportunities
6. Speaking
7. Member training
8. Event coordination

Note: Rev./ the Rev. (Reverend) is a title or form of address for a cleric (a religious leader) or minister.

How to Cite Scriptural References

When including Biblical references, use a semicolon (;) to separate one chapter from another
or to separate one book from another: ... ( John 1: 3-5; 2: 9-10) or ... (John 1: 3-5; Luke 4: 3,5,7).
And the period (.) that ends the sentence goes after the parantheses : ________ (....).
Some more examples: (v. 5) but (vv. 5, 7) -> v. = verse ; vv. = verses

Translation Methods

There are a number of translation techniques one of which is word-for-word translation. According to Vinay
and Darbelnet (linguists), this technique can only be applied with languages (source and target languages)
which are extremely close in cultural terms. In our case, the source language (SL) is Indonesian while the target
language (TL) is English. For more information on the other techniques, please check out the following
websites:

How to Break Free of Word-for-Word Translation

Try the following:
1. Say it in another way (paraphrase) but keep the main point of the message intact:
- Menjelang liburan Natal,
When / Every time the Christmas season is just (a)round the corner,
As the Christmas holidays are coming,
With the approaching Christmas season,
- paling sibuk get the heaviest workload
- masuk gereja (beribadah) to go to church / to attend a church service instead of to enter a church

2. Read a sentence a couple of times.

Following that, try to remember what it is all about.
Next, translate what you remember without looking at the sentence again. Then, move on.
Before the finishing touch, compare your translation work with the original text just to find out
if you have missed some points.

3. Add some phrases, if need be, to make your writing flow nicely but keep the essence of the message whole.

3
How to Vary Choice of Words and Avoid Repetitions
Using idiomatic expresions help you vary your vocabulary. And to avoid using the same word or phrase
again and again, use a synonym or modifed antonym every now and then ( not all the time):

to blame -> to point the finger at

Christmas holidays -> Christmas season
also -> besides, on top of that, apart from that, more than that
in fact -> in reality
cold -> not hot (modify an antonym if a synonym is not available)

How to Find Synonyms, Antonyms or Idioms Online

Firstly, go to Yahoo or Google.

How to Find out the Use of a Word or Phrase in a Sentence Online

Repeat the steps in the previous tip.

How to Style Sentence Constructions

To break free from the classic type ( Subject + Verb), begin your sentence with a gerund, a prepotitional or
a participial phrase off and on ( not right from the beginning to the end of the text). You can also reverse
the positions of the main and sub- clauses when possible.

Proclaiming the Gospel is ....

To live a successful prayer life, we ....
Sharing her testimony with the unbelievers, she ....
Asked how he would deal with the issue, John ....
Having read the Bible from cover to cover, they .
When Jesus came, the disciples ....

How to Make Extremely Long Sentences short

First, split an unsually long sentence up into two shorter sentences.
Then, using the proper coordinator, link the two shorter sentences to each other.
Or use a phrase with an implicit meaning to make a sentence shorter.
For example,
merayakan Natal bersama keluarga to celebrate Christmas at home instead of
with all family members.

Suggestions:
Reading helps a lot. When reading, pick the authors writing style if you go for it. More than that,
pay attention to the idioms or phrases that you think you can adopt into your piece of writing.
Read an English devotional if you want to (https://ourdailybread.org/mobileresources/).
