CONSUMED WITH ZEAL: TRANSFORMING HEARTS, CHURCHES, AND NATIONS

End-time Revelation of Jesus: Bridegroom, King, and Judge

I. INTRODUCTION

A. The years leading up to Jesus return will see unique dynamics, both positive and negative. The
greatest outpouring of the Spirit in history is coming. It will surpass the book of Acts in power
(Acts 2:17-21) as the gospel is proclaimed in every nation (Mt. 24:14). At the same time, sin will
increase and Satan will rage against the nations as Gods judgments are poured out against the
Antichrists empire (Mt. 24:21). As the light gets brighter, so the darkness will get darker. Jesus
taught that the wheat and the tares will mature together at the end of the age (Mt. 13:30).

B. The Word and the Spirit emphasize Jesus as Bridegroom, King, and Judge at the end of the age.

C. Passionate Bridegroom: As Bridegroom, Jesus has burning desire for His people. The
Bridegroom message is about Jesus emotions for us, His beauty, His commitments to us (to
share His heart, home, throne, secrets, and beauty), and our response of wholehearted love
(obedience) that moves Him. The Spirit uses the message of the Bridegroom God to restore the
first commandment to first place in the Church. We must refuse all sensual overtones in
proclaiming Jesus as our Bridegroom God. (Jesus is not to be seen as our lover or boyfriend).
(Isa. 54:4-12; 62:2-5; Jer. 2:2; 3:14; 31:32; Ezek. 16:13-15, 32; 23:1-45; Hos. 1:2; 2:7, 14-23;
3:1-5; Mt. 9:15; 22:1-14; 25:1-13; Jn. 3:29; 2 Cor. 11:2; Eph. 5:25-32; Rev. 19:7-9; 21:9; 22:17)

D. Sovereign King: As King, Jesus possesses all power and anoints His people to do the works of
the kingdom. He manifests His power by releasing protection, direction, financial provision, and
He heals individual lives, revives the Church, transforms society, and restores the earth itself.

E. Righteous Judge: As Judge, Jesus removes everything that hinders love; He has a strategic plan
and great zeal to intervene to confront oppression and corruption in a way that He has never done
before in order to transition the earth to the age to come (Zech. 8:2; Rev. 19:2). Many unique
dynamics will occur in His strategic end-time plan as He drives evil off the earth forever.

F. No contradiction: There is no contradiction in Jesus character as Bridegroom, King, and Judge.

God never suspends one attribute to exercise another. The King uses His great power to express
His burning desire for His people and to deliver them from everything that hinders love. The
same furnace of Jesus holy desire for His Bride is turned toward the oppressors of His people.

G. Jesus emphasized the revelation of God as Bridegroom, King, and Judge in His final message to
Israel (Mt. 22:1-14, 37) and in His final message to the apostles before the last supper (Mt. 25).
The final revelation in the Word reveals Jesus as Bridegroom, King, and Judge (Rev. 19-22).

End-time Revelation of Jesus: Bridegroom, King, and Judge

H. John the Baptist was the first person in the New Testament to bring together the revelation of
Jesus as the Bridegroom, King, and Judge (Mt. 3:1-12; Jn. 3:29-31). Isaiah 61-63 is a clear Old
Testament description of the Spirits activity in the generation in which Jesus returns, revealing
Him as Bridegroom, King, and Judge. Psalm 45 sets Jesus forth as Bridegroom, King, and Judge.

I. These truths are central to the forerunner ministry. These truths are essential in correcting the
increasing distortion of the truth about who Jesus really is. In the 1970s, I began to see Jesus the
King. In the 1980s, I began to see Jesus the Bridegroom. In the 1990s, I began to see Jesus the
Judge and to put all three truths about Him together in context to the forerunner message.

J. To neglect any one of these three truths is to diminish the others. Different camps in the Church
refuse or emphasize one of these truths over against the other two.

II. THE CRISIS OF GODS JUDGMENT

A. There will be a crisis on the earth related to misunderstanding Gods judgments. If people lack
understanding of what is happening in the end times, they will be more vulnerable to yield to
fear, offense, confusion, compromise, and deception. Many will need help to rightly interpret His
judgments as expressions of Gods love and wisdom. The purpose of Gods judgments against
the Antichrists empire is to remove all that hinders love and to stop oppression and corruption.

B. The Spirit is raising up forerunners to prepare people to respond rightly to Jesus by giving them
understanding of His heart and plans, so they will be able to agree with what He is doing instead
of resisting it. The Lord calls some forerunners to seasons of rigorous preparation to proclaim
the forerunner message. They prepare themselves by going deep in God through studying the
Scripture with prayer and fasting, walking in purity, and learning to minister in Gods power.
Because of love, they prepare themselves to prepare others for this historic transition time.

III. OUR CALL TO EMPHASIZE JESUS AS BRIDEGROOM, KING, AND JUDGE

A. In May 1983, the Lord spoke audibly, related to Psalm 27:4, saying: I will establish 24-hour
prayer in the spirit of the tabernacle of David. I believe that encountering the beauty of Jesus is
foundational to energizing and sustaining the end-time worship and prayer movement.
4
One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the
LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD (Ps. 27:4)

B. In July 1988, while in my office reading Song 8:6, I began to pray, Jesus, seal my heart with
Your seal of love. I asked the receptionist to hold all my calls. Ten minutes later, the
receptionist said, Bob Jones heard the audible voice of the Lord for you. He said that at very
hour the Lord had spoken audibly to Him, promising to release grace across the Body of Christ
worldwide to walk in Song 8:6-7 and that I was to focus on this theme throughout my ministry.
6
Set Me [Jesus] as a seal upon your heartfor love is as strong as deathits flames are
flames of fire 7 Many waters [of sin or pressure] cannot quench love (Song 8:6-7)

IV. CALL THEM HEPHZIBAH

A. In November of 1995, I had a prophetic dream on a Sunday morning, exhorting me to call Gods
people Hephzibah. I was on a large platform and heard a loud voice like thunder say, Call
them Hephzibah, the Lord delights in you. I assumed that it was the voice of the Holy Spirit.
4
You shall be called Hephzibah...for the LORD delights in you 5For as the bridegroom
rejoices [enjoys] over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you. 6I have set watchmen on
your wallsthey shall never hold their peace [be silent, NAS] day or night 7give Him no rest
till He establishesJerusalem a praise in the earth. (Isa. 62:4-7)

B. I woke up from the dream instantly with the Spirit resting on me. The Hephzibah message is
that God delights in us and rejoices over us as a Bridegroom. It is the same as the Song of
Solomon message. The bridal revelation of Isaiah 62:1-5 is essential to sustaining the night-and-
day prayer of Isa. 62:6-7, which is essential to the forerunner ministry of Isa. 62:10-63:6.

V. JESUS, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL

A. Just after midnight on November 30, 1996, I was touched by Gods presence in an all-night
prayer meeting as I continued to speak one statement. From about midnight until 5:00 am I said,
Jesus, You are so beautiful. Every time I said it, I felt a surge of His presence on me. I said,
Body of Christ, open your gates to the beautiful God. The prayer meeting was over at 5:00 am.
I went back to the church at 9:00 am that day and said, You are the beautiful God for another
two hours. Again, every time I said it, I felt a surge of His presence on me. I was struck by how
clearly the Spirit was bearing witness with His presence to me about declaring Jesus beauty.

B. The next week, a lady sent me a letter that said, I had a dream about you early last Saturday
morning, November 30. In this dream the Lord said He would open up to you the revelation of
His beauty and that He wants you to call the Church into His beauty.

VI. CALLED TO PROCLAIM JESUS END-TIME JUDGMENTS

A. In July of 1997, Rick Joyner prophesied to me: In the next few weeks the Lord is going to visit
you about your life mandate, because you are in transition. A month later on August 27, 1997, I
had a prophetic dream indicating that part of my ministry was to be found in Isaiah 40:3. I was to
begin to seek understanding of what it meant to prepare people and build up Gods highways.
3
Prepare the way of the LORD; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. (Isa. 40:3)

B. On September 3, 1997, during a prayer meeting, the Spirit highlighted three verses to me (Rev.
2:17; 3:12; 19:12). I felt the wind and fire of the Spirit manifesting on me for several hours.
12
I will write on him the name of My GodI will write on him My new name. (Rev. 3:12)

C. On the way out of the prayer room, I received a note from Terry Bennett who said that he saw
the wind and fire of the Holy Spirit resting on me and that the Lord was imparting grace related
to three verses: Revelation 2:17, 3:12, and 19:12.

End-time Revelation of Jesus: Bridegroom, King, and Judge

D. On September 17, 1997, during a prayer meeting, the Spirit highlighted Isaiah 63:1-6 to me.
Again, I felt the wind and fire of the Spirit manifesting on me for several hours. In this passage,
Isaiah described Jesus wearing the red garments of judgment as He walked through the nations in
context to His second coming. I asked, Your red garments are glorious. Why are they red?
1
Who is this who comes from Edom [modern day Jordan], with dyed garments from Bozrah
[capital of Edom], this One who is glorious in His apparel, traveling in the greatness of His
strength?I [Jesus] who speak in righteousness, mighty to save. 2Why is Your apparel red,
and Your garments like one who treads in the winepress? 3I have trodden the winepress
alone, and from the peoples no one was with Me. For I have trodden them in My anger, and
trampled them in My fury; their blood is sprinkled upon My garments, and I have stained all
My robes. 4For the day of vengeance is in My heart, and the year of My redeemed has come.
(Isa. 63:1-4)

1. Jesus will tread the winepress alone (Isa. 63:3). The Lord was saying to me, There are
no governments on earth that will agree with My judgments. They will be against them. I
will trample the nations alone even though none agree with Me. Will you agree with
Me? I repeatedly said yes. The wind and the fire of the Spirit came on me.

2. He said, You will be rejected even by some of My people. Some will rise up against
you. I promised the Lord: I will preach both the Jesus in the white dazzling garment
from Song of Solomon 5:10 and the Jesus in red from Isaiah 63.
10
My beloved is white [bright or dazzling]chief among ten thousand. (Song 5:10)

3. Jesus coming will be in context to a military conflict around Jerusalem. He will march
through Bozrah, the capital of ancient Edom (modern day Jordan), killing His enemies on
His way to Jerusalem (Zech. 14:1-5) with their blood sprinkled on His robes (Isa. 34:5-
10; 63:1-6; Hab. 3:3-18; Zech. 9:14; Ps. 110:5-6; Deut. 33:2; Rev. 19:11-16).

4. John referenced this passage in Isaiah 63, when he described Jesus second coming. John
highlighted that Jesus robe would be dipped in blood
11
He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges
and makes war...13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood...15 Now out of His
mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. (Rev. 19:11-15)

E. In that prayer meeting on September 17, Terry came over and prophesied to me and told me that
he saw the same angel that touched me two weeks earlier with fire and wind was again touching
me. He said that he saw the wind of God like a tornado swirling around my body, as an angel
poured fire on me. He prophesied to me, saying Jesus is coming to you in red garments. He is
putting the mantle of Isaiah 63 on you (or grace to speak this message). Your ministry is to focus
on revealing the name of God, even as it is manifest in His end-time judgments. You must study
this passage because you must proclaim the Jesus in red.

F. It became clear to me that the Lord was continuing to establish various truths that He wanted
emphasized in this young adult movement.
