2018 Minimum Entry Requirements
for International Undergraduate Programs

* These programs have quota restrictions
and entry is very competitive: the figures
quoted are a guide only and applications
will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
** Medicine Students must have taken
either the Undergraduate Medicine and
Health Sciences Admissions Test (UMAT)
or the International Student Admissions
Test (ISAT) in the year of application,
achieving a minimum score of 50 in each
section of the UMAT or a minimum of 60
percentile in each section of the ISAT.
*** Music (Honours) entry on the basis
of specified requirements, an audition,
interview and muscianship test.
1 UK GCE A Levels for countries including:
Bahamas, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cameroon,
Falkland Island, Gambia, Ghana, Gibraltar,
Hong Kong, Ireland, Kenya, Liberia, Macau,
Malawi, Malta, Mauritius, Namibia, Nigeria,

and Zimbabwe. Aggregate of best 3 (or

average of final year results, converted to
a 13 pt scale if otherwise reported. From
2007 a new grading system ranging from
00 (lowest) to 12 (highest) with a pass at
2 has been introduced.
4 French Baccalaurat: average, with 10 as
the pass mark.
5 German Abitur: In the reformed
upper secondary level (oberstufe), the
Durchschnittsnote = 5 2/3 - P/180 where
P = Punktzahl der Gesamtqualifikation. If

For all subjects with the exception of
Mathematics, the Subject Result must be
used. For Mathematics, if two modules
are undertaken calculate the average of
the two reported Subject Results. The
compulsory module, taken on its own,
will count as a full subject.
8 Malaysian STPM: aggregate of best
three subjects, where A=4.00, A-=3.67,
B+=3.33, B=3.00, B-=2.67, C+=2.33,
C=2.00.
9 Norway Upper Secondary School
Exams: grade average of final year
results. Norwegian Certificiate of
Completion of Upper Secondary
School Examinations or Comparable
Qualification.
10 Pakistan Inter/Higher School
Certificate (pre-Eng and pre-med
streams): grade average of final year
results. Pass=33%(E), Satisfactory=
40%(D), Good=50%(C), Very
Good=60%(B), Excellent=70%(A),
Outstanding=80%(A-1).
11 Singapore-Cambridge A Levels:
aggregate of best 3 H2 subjects and the
best H1 subject. For H2 subjects, A=5,
B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1. For H1 subjects, the
notional value is half of that assigned to
H2 subjects.
12 South Africa (after 2008): Grade
average of best 6 subjects in the
final year (excluding the subject Life
Orientation), where 7=80-100%, 6=70-
79%, 5=60-69%, 4=50-59%, 3=40-49%,
2=30-39%, 1=0-29%.
