FL STUDIO BASICS

Keyboard & Mouse Shortcuts


This page lists some of the keyboard shortcuts to useful commands in FL Studio. Please examine the menus/context menus for more shortcuts.

Record / Playback / Transport [Esc] Close active window

Space Start/Stop playback [F1] Help

Ctrl + Space Start/Pause playback [F5] Open/close Playlist

[F6] Open/close Step sequencer

Playlist action [F7] Open/close Piano roll

Alt + T Add time marker [F8] Open/close Browser

Ctrl + Left-click Select [F9] Open/close Mixer

Ctrl + Shift + Left-click Add to selection [F10] Show/hide MIDI settings

Ctrl + Shift + Right-click Zoom to selected Clip [F11] Show/hide song info

Ctrl + Right-click Zoom on selection - Drag to make zoom selection (zoom on release) [F12] Close all windows

Shift + 0 (zero) Center playback to playing position (numbers above typing keys)

Shift + 5 Fit all to playlist window (numbers above typing keys) [P] Pencil tool in PL and SS

PgUp/PgDn Zoom in/Zoom out [B] Brush tool in PL and SS

[D] Delete in PL and SS

Piano roll action [T] Mute in PL and SS

Alt Bypass snap (very useful when combined with other modifiers) [C] Slice in PL and SS

Hold Left-click + Shift Clone note and lock move horizontally (using snap setting) [E] Selection tool in PL and SS

Hold Left-click + Ctrl Clone note and lock move vertically

Shift + Left/Right Move note horizontally (using snap setting)

Shift + Up/Down Move note chromatically

Ctrl + Up/Down Move note by octaves
