Verdaderamente Casa Comunal es un sitio unico en su tipo en Bocas del Toro. La

arquitectura minimalista es aplicada con consideracion cuidadosa para acentuar las
vistas expansivas del Caribe y mas alla, mientras que el paisajismo resalta el follaje
original que rodea la propiedad. Cuenta con 284 metros cuadrados (3050 pies
cuadrados) de interiores con unos 160 metros cuadrados adicionales (1,772 pies
cuadrados) de terraza techada. La propiedad cuenta con 1,213 metros cuadrados
(1/3 acres) con un total de 56 metros (184 pies) de playa privada. La propiedad
puede alquilarse por complete o como casas separadas donde comparten una
entrada comn en el centro con paredes deslizantes que se pueden cerrar para
mayor intimidad. Cada hogar tambien tiene su propio deck o terraza privada.

Casa Comunal is truly one of a kind in Bocas del Toro. The home's minimalist
architecture is applied with careful consideration to enhance the expansive views of the
Caribbean and beyond while the landscaping augments the original treescapes around
which the home was built. It boasts 284 square meters (3050sq.ft.) of interior space with
an additional 160 square meters (1722 sqft.) of covered deck space outside. The property
is 1,213 square meters (1/3 acre) total with 56 meters (184 feet) of private beachfront. It
can be rented as one large, single home or two separate homes that share a dividing
entryway room in the center with walls that can slide closed and lock for privacy. Each
home also has its own private deck, separated by an atrium in the middle.

un sof que se convierte en una cama twin (100*200cm). Adicionalmente tiene dos
camas colgantes en el saln principal. Todas las camas kingsize pueden separarse
en camas twins pudindose alojar hasta 9 huspedes.

When divided, the larger of the two homes, "Casa Norte", is a 3 bedroom, 2
bathroom. The master suite has has a king bed (200 x 200 cm) and its own large
bathroom with an oversized soaking tub. The second bedroom has a king and the third, a
king bed and a twin-sized (100 x 200 cm) sofa bed. In addition there are two full-sized
hanging beds in the large living room. All king beds can be pulled apart into two twins to
accommodate up to 9 guests in a variety of configurations.
La propiedad pequena, Casa Sur, cuenta con dos habitaciones y dos banos. El
master suite tiene bano privado con una banera tamano grande. El segundo bano
tiene una cama king con su propio bano. La cocina es particularmente bien

The smaller house, "Casa Sur", has a 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The master suite has
its own private bathroom with an oversized soaking tub. The second bedroom has a king
bed and its own bathroom. The kitchen is particularly well appointed in this unit, with a
larger corner layout, kitchen island, oven and dishwasher. Including the couch, this house
can sleep up to 5 guests.

Disenado teniendo como obejetiivo lograr un ambiente sustentable en el cual el agua

surtida para las habitaciones, banos etc proviene de un sistema de recolecion de
aguas de lluvia y el paisaje tiene abundancia de arboles frutales. Adicionalmente,
muchos muebles han sido fabricados artesanalmente por carpinteros locales de
material de construccion reutilizado. Se ha dedicado un gran esfuerzo a reducir el
consumo energetico pero manteniendo un maximo confort para nuestros huespedes.
El sistema de iluminacion de alta eficiencia esta dotado de bombillos con dimmer
LED de alto rendimiento. La orientacion de la casa, sus ventanales y ventiladores
de techo han sido disenados para facilitar las corrientes naturales de aire y
optimizar la ventilacion natural.

Designed with sustainable living in mind, the water system runs off of rain catchment,
and a landscape filled with tropical fruit bearing trees provide an abundance of healthy,
organic delicacies. In addition, many of the furniture pieces were handcrafted by local
woodworkers out of reused building materials and/or naturally fallen trees. Great effort
has been taken to reduce our energy consumption while maintaining maximum comfort
for our guests. The lighting system runs highly efficient, warm-colored dimmable LED
bulbs. For temperature control, the home's orientation and window and ceiling fan
configurations were designed with natural cross breeze patterns in mind to maximize
airflow throughout.

Solo hasta ahora, las variadas opciones ofrecidas para aprendizaje practico ha sido
ofrecido tipicamente en ciudades principales, en salas de conferencias, en hotels o en
aulas universitarias. Y el formato hasta ahora ha sido aprender hasta que tomes
una pausa para almorzar, aprender un poco mas, ir a casa y repetir todo el proximo
dia. De igual forma, plataformas para compartir ideas como las conocidas charlas
de ideas TED Talks, tutorials por YouTube hasta la Academia Khan, a pesar que
puedan afectar, se limitan en alcance debido que no brindan una atencion dinamica
que solo se puede lograr ocupando un mismo espacio.

Until now, the various options for hands-on learning have typically been hosted in major
cities, indoors, in hotel conference rooms or community college classrooms. And the
format, till now, has been to learn till to you break for lunch, learn some more, go home
and repeat the following day. Likewise, idea sharing platforms like TED Talks, YouTube
tutorial videos, even Khan Academy, while disruptive their own right, are limited due to
their lack of dynamic interaction and a personal attention that can only come from
occupying the same physical space.

Nuestra mision es de potenciar el aprendizaje, incrementar la retencion de

informacion y reducir el burnout o agotamiento. Queremos brindar un espacio
dinamico y sano donde puedan disfrutar de la belleza que ofrece Bocas del Toro. El
tiempo dedicado a la practica con otros participantes y junto con su instructor es
acentuado con las actividades ofrecidas de surfeo, yoga, paddleboard, trekking,

Our goal is to enhance learning, increase retention of information and decrease

"burnout." We want to make interaction more dynamic and healthy and ultimately create
a sense of lasting community between our attendees by integrating all the outdoor
excitement of Bocas Del Toro into the curriculum. Time studying here with your fellow
retreaters and your instructor is enhanced with surfing, yoga, paddleboarding, hiking,
freediving, atv touring and all the other fun stuff you'll find on our Activities page. After

Women's Week is a five day celebration of cultures past which represented basic human

Participantes podran mejorar el ejercicio de respiracion y de retencion de aire, nado
dinamico, zambullidas en profundidad, equalizacion, y tecnicas especiales al igual
que comprehension teorica. Paricipantes tendran la oportunidad de recibir
certificacion de 2 o 3 estrellas a traves de AIDA, la asociacion certificada que brinda
lecciones, competiciones y educacion de buceo. Las clases cuentan con 2
Instructores de AIDA bilingues quienes ofrecen lo siguiente: visitas a las islas que
conforman Bocas del Toro y desayunos y almuerzos saludables.

Retreaters will train to improve static breath holds, dynamic swims, depth diving,
equalization, specialized techniques and theory comprehension. Students will have the
opportunity to receive 2 and/or 3 star certifications thru AIDA, the global governing body
of freediving competitions and education. You will be trained by 2 AIDA Instructors
fluent in English and Spanish. Your instructors will also lead you on a variety of island
adventure activities and cook you nutritionally conscious meals for breakfast and lunch to
optimize your performance in the water using the healthiest ingredients sourced from
local farmers markets.

Hawaii. Su trabajo se enfoca en la cultura surfista, el deporte, lifestyle y el viaje.
Con cada imagen narra un cuento. Su habilidad de compocision y tecnica nunca
olvida el componente personal. La fotografa es conocida por su trabajo de
periodismo fotografico y sus fotos de la vida marina atreviendose a acercarse a
tiburones, ballenas y otras creaturas gigantes. Ese fotoperiodismo ha ayudado a
concientizar sobre la necesidad de preservar el oceano. Su intencion es de resaltar
la conexion que tenemos con el oceano, enfatizar nuestra capacidad para salvarla y
la importancia de este tema.

Our instructor is a self-taught award winning photographer and artist, based in

Hawaii. Her whose work focuses on surf culture, the sport, the lifestyle and travel. With
each image she tells a tale and with compositional and technical skill, she never forgets
that there is an emotional component, a visceral quality waiting to be captured. She has
also become renowned for her work in photo journalism and her intimate photos of sea
life as she has dared approach many species of shark, whale and other large creatures up
close, without a cage. In so doing, her work has come to express the need for
preservation of an ocean in need, one with a face and a heart. Her goal is to highlight our
interconnectedness with the ocean, to underscore our ability to save it and the urgency
with which we must do so.

deeper freedives.

The beauty of Bocas del Toro is its diversity. Geographically and culturally, there are
new discoveries to be made at every turn.

Bocas del Toro es conformado por una cadena de 5 islas en la costa Caribe a poca
distancia la una de la otra. Hay colinas para hacer un poco de trekking, manglares
a explorar, playas serenas de arena blanca de agua transparente o si prefiere hacer
surf, hay playas con buena marea con olas de todo tipo de fuerza y tamano.

Bocas is made up of five separate islands that are all within a quick boat ride of one
another. There are hills for hiking, mangroves for exploring, pristinely calm white sand
beaches and still others with waves of all varieties of size and strength.

Colon, la isla principal esta habitada por una comunidad latina hispanoparlante.
Los sonidos de msica salsa y reggaetn, los sabores de un pollo marinado cocido a
fuego lento, arroz y frijoles, cebollas y habanero. Por otro lado, Bastimentos, la isla
de mayor tamao de todas es compuesta de una comunidad Afro-Caribea que
habla Criollo. Aqu la comida tiene sazn criolla y la msica es reggae y dance hall.
A travs de la islas existe tambin una diversa comunidad de expatriados, Europeos,
Amrica del Norte y Sur y de origen Chino, cuyas respectivas tiendas y restaurantes
ofrecen aun mas sabores nicos, desde la encantadora pastelera francesa hasta la
comida tpica argentina y alemana, hasta el almacn y botiqun orgnico estilo-
Americano.
Colon, the main island is inhabited by a Latin, Spanish-speaking community. The sounds
are salsa and reggaeton, the flavors are slow-marinated chicken, rice and beans, onions
and habanero. By contrast Bastimentos, the largest island in the group, is mostly an Afro-
Caribbean community that speaks Creole. Here, the food is 'jerked' and the music is
reggae and dancehall. Throughout the islands, there is also a diverse community of
expats, European, North and South American, and Chinese, whose respective shops and
restaurants offer even more unique flavors, from the charming French bakery to
Argentinean and German specialty cuisine, to the healthy American-style organic grocery
and health food store.

And Bocas is not just a daytime destination. The fun continues after dark at restaurants
that feature fire-twirling shows, dive bars (?) with dollar beers, ping pong and billiards,
wine bards, live jazz and indoor/outdoor clubs built over the water, complete with
trampoline, tightrope (?) and swings to launch you into your midnight swim after
sweating it up on the dance floor.

Y Bocas no es solo un destino de pasadia. La diversion continua en la noche con

restaurantes que cuentan con actividades recreacionales tales como: mesas de ping-pong
y billar, jazz en vivo y bares con cervesas a dolar y seleccion de vinos. Cuenta tambien

We view it as an honor to be able to live our dream in these pristine islands and we could
not do it without some very kind, talented and hospitable members of the Bocatoranian
community. As such, we intend to reduce our impact environmentally while increasing
the general welfare of the locals around us.
A ese fin, todas las reservaciones incluiran una contribucion de $30 que sera
utilizada en proyectos e iniciativas impulsadas a benecificio de nuestros vecinos y su
tierra, desde programas orientados a la salud y educacion hasta clases de surfeo y
limpieza de playas.
To that end, all reservations will include a $30 Bocas Community Contribution Fee
which will go towards various projects and initiatives by The Casa Comunal Group to
benefit our neighbors and their land, from education and health programs to surf lessons
and beach clean-ups.

Por ultimo nuestros Talleres de Aprendizaje incluira una porcion de interaccion con
locales de la comunidad donde sea posible. La meta es intercambiar ideas y

Furthermore our Learning Retreats will include a portion of interaction with the local
