Task description:
In pairs your task is to create a multimedia presentation ranging between 10-15 minutes using
both primary and secondary sources in regards to the unit investigating modern history-
historic sites and sources. Note: You cannot do Trench warfare as we have already covered this
in depth in class

Form of Response:
In pairs you are required to pick a historical site and undergo an investigation. In your
presentation you must cover the following:
What is the historical site?
Historical significance?
The use of scientific techniques in the investigation of the past? i.e DNA Samples,
surveys, forensic examination
At least two or three Different historical interpretations of the site? (I.E Gallipoli
being celebrated By Australian and New Zealanders on Anzac day is a form of
interpretation but the battle can be seen as total slaughter and manipulation by
the government is another form of interpretation).
Why is it important for historians to study it? and How does this historical site
communicate the past?

In your film you are required to look at a variety of sources and to analyse them
appropriately. All sources need to be referenced during and at the end of the film
