Four Times Tables
To multiply by 4, we double the
twos facts.

4 w 1 = 4 J2w1 + 2w1K
4 w 2 = 8 J2w2 + 2w2K
4 w 3 = 12 J2w3 + 2w3K
4 w 4 = 16 J2w4 + 2w4K
4 w 5 = 20 J2w5 + 2w5K
4 w 6 = 24 J2w6 + 2w6K
4 w 7 = 28 J2w7 + 2w7K
4 w 8 = 32 J2w8 + 2w8K
4 w 9 = 36 J2w9 + 2w9K
4 w 10 = 40 J2w10 + 2w10K

Zero Times Tables
When zero is a factor, the product or
answer is zero

0 w 1 = 0
0 w 2 = 0
0 w 3 = 0
0 w 4 = 0
0 w 5 = 0
0 w 6 = 0
0 w 7 = 0
0 w 8 = 0
0 w 9 = 0
0 w 10 = 0

Five Times Tables
To multiply by 5, we can use a clock face and
the 5 minute intervals to help us.

5 w 1 = 5 (5 mins past)
5 w 2 = 10 (10 mins past)
5 w 3 = 15 (15 mins past)
5 w 4 = 20 (20 mins past)
5 w 5 = 25 (25 mins past)
5 w 6 = 30 (30 mins past)
5 w 7 = 35 (35 mins past)
5 w 8 = 40 (40 mins past)
5 w 9 = 45 (45 mins past)
5 w 10 = 50

(50 mins past)
Six Times Tables
We already now the first 5 of our 6 times
tables as turn around facts.
6 w 1 = 6 1w6=6
6 w 2 = 12 2w6=12
6 w 3 = 18 3w6=18
6 w 4 = 24 4w6=24
6 w 5 = 30 5w6=30
With the remaining facts the best way is to
learn and remember them or add 6 to the
prior 6 fact.
6 w 6 = 36 J6w5 + 6K
6 w 7 = 42 J6w6 + 6K
6 w 8 = 48 J6w7 + 6K
6 w 9 = 54 J6w8 + 6K
6 w 10 = 60 J6w9 + 6K
(6x9 and 6x10 are often easy to remember when you
know the nine and ten tables.)

Seven Times Tables
We already know a number of our 7 facts
through turn around facts.

7 w 1 = 7 1w7=7
7 w 2 = 14 2w7=14
7 w 3 = 21 3w7=21
7 w 4 = 28 4w7=28
7 w 5 = 35 5w7=35
7 w 6 = 42 6w7=42
For the rest of the seven facts we need to
learn and remember them or add 7 to the
prior 7 fact.
7 w 7 = 49 J7w6 + 7K
7 w 8 = 56 J7w7 + 7K
7 w 9 = 63 J7w8 + 7K
7 w 10 = 70 J7w9 + 7K
(7x9 and 7x10 are often easy to remember when you
know the nine and ten tables.)

Eight Times Tables
We already know a number of our 7 facts
through turn around facts.
8 w 1 = 8 1w8=8
8 w 2 = 16 2w8=16
8 w 3 = 24 3w8=24
8 w 4 = 32 4w8=32
8 w 5 = 40 5w8=40
8 w 6 = 48 6w8=48
8 w 7 = 56 7w8=56
For the rest of the eight facts we need to
learn and remember them or add 8 to the
prior 8 fact.
8 w 8 = 64 J7w8 + 8K
8 w 9 = 72 J8w8 + 8K
8 w 10 = 80 J8w9 + 8K
(8x9 and 8x10 are often easy to remember when you
know the nine and ten tables.)

Nine Times Tables
The nine times table are lots of fun and include
a number of patterns which makes learning easy.
1. The answers of all the nine facts added together
equal nine. 9 x 2 = 18 and 1 + 8 = 9
9 x 3 = 27 and 2 + 7 = 9

2. There is a pattern in the tens digits for all of the

nine facts. 9 x 7 9 is close to ten so 7 nines (or 7 lots of
9) must be close to 7 tens. The answer is close to 7 tens
but not quite 7 tens so the answer must have 6 tens. We
also know the digits of the answer must equal 9, so 6 + 3= 9
therefore 9 x 7 = 63.
9 w 1 = 9 (close to 1 ten, 9+0=9)
9 w 2 = 18 (close to 2 tens, 1+8=9)
9 w 3 = 27 (close to 3 tens, 2+7=9)
9 w 4 = 36 (close to 4 tens, 3+6=9)
9 w 5 = 45 (close to 5 tens, 4+5=9)
9 w 6 = 54 (close to 6 tens, 5+4=9)
9 w 7 = 63 (close to 7 tens, 6+3=9)
9 w 8 = 72 (close to 8 tens, 7+2=9)
9 w 9 = 81 (close to 7 tens, 8+1=9)
9 w10 = 90 (close to 100, 9+0=9)
Look down the ones column 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
Look down the tens column 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

Ten Times Tables
Learning the tens facts can be easy.

10 w 1 = 10 1 ten is ten (10)

10 w 2 = 20 2 tens are twenty (20)
10 w 3 = 30 3 tens are thirty (30)
10 w 4 = 40 4 tens are forty (40)
10 w 5 = 50 5 tens are fifty (50)
10 w 6 = 60 6 tens are sixty (60)
10 w 7 = 70 7 tens are seventy (70)
10 w 8 = 80 8 tens are eighty (80)
10 w 9 = 90 9 tens are ninety (90)
10 w 10 = 100 10 tens are one hundred
(100)

The tens facts count in tens.

Three Times Table
When multiplying by 3, double the number
and add it again.
4 4 + 4 = 8 + 4 = 12
x 3

3 w 1 = 3

3 w 2 = 6

3 w 3 = 9

3 w 4 = 12

3 w 5 = 15

3 w 6 = 18

3 w 7 = 21

3 w 8 = 24

3 w 9 = 27

3 w 10 = 30

Two Times Table
When you multiply by 2, you are doubling the
number (adding a number to itself)

2 w 1 = 2 11 1+1
2 w 2 = 4 22 2+2
2 w 3 = 6 33 3+3
2 w 4 = 8 44 4+4
2 w 5 = 10 55 5+5
2 w 6 = 12 66 6+6
2 w 7 = 14 77 7+7
2 w 8 = 16 88 8+8
2 w 9 = 18 99 9+9
2 w 10 = 20 10+10

One Times Table
When you multiply by one, the question and
the answer are the same.

4 1

x 1 1 four is four x 4 4 ones are 4

1 w 1 = 1
1 w 2 = 2
1 w 3 = 3
1 w 4 = 4
