Reflection from prior lesson: This lesson will build on the previous lesson designed to develop
the students ability to throw under hand and step with the opposite foot.

Materials needed: bowling pins, various different balls/bean bags, Bottles, and cones

The Lesson
1. Introduction (include time allotment) (3min)
Getting attention
Students will come into the gym and check the I pads team shake to see what
team/station the will be for the day.
Relating to past experience and/or knowledge
In todays activity students will relate knowledge they gained about throwing
under hand in their past class. But today they will be doing various different throwing
activities that could be found at a fair.
Creating a need to know
Todays activity we are playing fair games. These games will consist of ring toss.
Bucket and tower.

Sharing objective, in general terms (5 Miin


o Explanation of the activity. Students are to go to one of the three stations. Station one will be
ring toss. Students will toss rings under hand and try and make the rings on to the target.
Each student at that station will throw all of their rings and wait for every on to be done
throwing their rings before going to retrieve their rings. Students are to keep track of how
many rings they make on their target. Station two will be bucket toss. Students will have
bean bags set up at a cone. The students at this station will stand behind the cone and try and
make it into one of three different buckets. The close bucket will be worth 1 point the middle
bucket will be worth two points and the far bucket will be worth 3 points. Students are to
record their score and wait for everyone to throw their bean bags before rotating. At Station
three students will be throwing under hand to knock over the tower of bottles in front of
them. The students will be throwing under hand to try and knock over the bottles. The
students are to wait until everyone has knocked over their tower before going and restacking
their towers and picking up their bean bags.

2. Content Delivery (include time allotment & instructional methodologies) 25 min


o Warm up Builders and bulldozers teacher is to have the builders and
bulldozers set up before the students get to class. The object of builders
and bulldozers is for the bulldozers to run around and knock over the
cones/bowling pins. While the builders run around standing up the objects
that were knocked over. Then switch who is builders and who is
bulldozers. When game is over students will help put objects into the
corner. (5 min)

Students have to pick up all of the bean bags and get them into the bag before they can
get a drink and record their pedometers line up at the door. (2 min)
