(i) The Upper Continuous Temperature requirement should be changed in
clause 5.1.6 (i) from 115 deg C to 105 Deg C as specified in medium
classification of IEC - 61386.
(ii) Following note to be added in clause 7.1 "All the manufacturers are
requested to furnish the technical specification with the following details
against each model of the conduit: "Outside Diameter, Inside Diameter,
and bending radius" . It will be added in annexure in form of questionnaire.
(iv) The following note to be added in clause NO.9 of Marking & packing
based on the marking requirements of IEC 61386 "The manufacturers are
advised to mark each item with the vendor name or trademark or
identification mark. The product identification mark, which may be, for
example, a catalogue number, a symbol or the like, in such a way that it
can be identified in the manufacturer's literature however for the items
where it is impractical, then the mark may be on the label attached to the
product or on the smallest supplied package"
(v) The minimum thread Length of 10mm, for various types & sizes of end
fittings, to be specified in clause No. 5.2.1
(vi) The Material of construction for O-ring & Gaskets to be specified in clause
No. 5.2.1. O-ring shall be NBR however the Gaskets shall be Non
asbestos Reinforced NBR. Firms shall submit fire retardancy certificate for
NBR.
(vii) The Upper temp requirement of the Tube clamp as specified in clause
5.2.2 to be changed from 115 Deg C to 105 Deg C as per the requirement
of medium classification of IEC 61386
(viii) The firms are advised to conduct the IR spectroscopy of the raw material
as well as of the finished conduits & submit the results to RDSO on
priority. Firms shall inform RDSO at the time of the testing to witness the
test.
(ix) All firms suggested that in Para 5.2.1, the material of threading should be
as per the interface. If the interface is Plastic then the connector threads &
the Locknut should be of Polyamide -6 material and if the interface is
metal then the connector threads & the locknuts should be of Nickel
Plated brass.
(xi) Spouts - BEML has suggested that It is essential to develop the 2-way &
4-way spouts for the roof wiring in the coaches. The firms are advised to
develop both the spouts, in Polyamide - 6 material, which have necessary
interfaces at the ends to connect the conduits. The Technical specification
sheet along with the samples should be submitted on priority.
