Thermochemistry: A Vital Knowledge We Should Know

Our teacher taught as all about general chemistry, which includes

thermochemistry. So, what is thermochemistry? Thermochemistry is the
branch of chemistry concerned with the quantities of heat evolved or
absorbed during chemical reactions. Therefore, the main focus of
thermochemistry is all about heat. Chemical reactions often involve changes
in energy due to the breaking and formation of bonds. This energy may be
classified as heat. Heat can be released or absorbed, depending on the
reaction, as well as its system and surrounding. The system is a part of the
universe we wish to focus our attention on while the surroundings are
everything else, except the system. In the world of chemistry, the system is
the chemical reaction itself and the surroundings are everything around it.
