Month of October - Food Drive After several storms and the


resulting destruction, the TCHS/DECA sponsored food drives
comes at an opportune time. We will be collecting non-
perishable food items again this year. Everyone is encouraged
to participate. Last year we collected 4210 items that were
delivered to Brother Charlies.

Save The Date!! Thurs, 10/26 Annual Title I Parent Meeting


with a twist! We invite and encourage you to attend the
Annual Title I Parent Meeting on Thursday, 10/26. After a
very brief information session, there will be stations set up
around the Commons to learn more about how your
student is engaging through technology by integrating the
Chromebook in class. There will also be assistance
available for any Infinite Campus issues and School
Nutrition information. Parents in attendance will be entered
in a drawing for prizes. We look forward to seeing you on

DEADLINE 10/31 US Senate Youth Program 56th Annual


Washington Week March 3-10, 2018 The US Senate Youth
Program (USSYP) is an intensive week-long educational
experience and scholarship sponsored by the US Senate for
outstanding high school students who are interested in
pursuing careers in public service. If you are a high school
junior or senior, already serving as an elected official in your student body or
other state or community organization, you may already be qualified to apply.

Thurs-Sun, 10/19-22 TCHS Blue Devil Players present Youre a


Good Man, Charlie Brown. Presented in the Performing Arts
Center at TCHS; Thursday Saturday show times: 6:00; Sunday
show time: 3:00. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students
and children.
Based on the beloved comic strip by Charles Schultz, Youre a
Good Man, Charlie Brown is a fresh approach to the all-time
1967 classic. Charlie Brown is joined by Sally Brown, Linus, Lucy,
Schroeder, Snoopy & Woodstock in the charming revue of
vignettes and songs. Cast/crew: Bryce Peugh, Maddie Malcom, Braeden
Baldwin, Morgan McLemore, Emily Dawson, Joseph Bueno, Abel Alexander,
Liza Byrd, Logan Ray, Julia Ryland, Annie Ho, Elijah Brooks, Dylan Coker, Walker

using the link below. Its that time of year
againtime for the Georgia Parent Survey. The
Georgia Parent Survey is modeled after the student
survey and contains 24 questions. Parents may
complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphone or tablet. For parents
that do not have access to the Internet, you are welcome to complete the Georgia
Parent Survey at school. All parents are encouraged to participate in the Georgia
Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School
Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly
to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is
also available in Spanish. Parents may select the Spanish version within the survey.
Results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to the public and will not
be posted online. The Georgia Parent Survey link is posted below.

10/31 DEADLINE If you plan to take a MOWR class spring
semester, you must schedule an appointment with your guidance
counselor before 10/31 to take care of all documentation and
paperwork. If you are new to the program, your parent/guardian
MUST attend the meeting.

Sports News:

Girls Basketball Any female interested in trying out for the TCHS Girls Basketball
team should see Coach Conner in the gym or in RM 920 ASAP! Coach Conner
has paperwork and more information that you will need to submit prior to 10/30.
Tryouts start on 10/30. Contact Coach Conner, jconner@tiftschools.com, if you
have any questions.

Fri, 10/20 Football (V) @ Colquitt; game time 7:30; tickets will be
sold Thursday & Friday at TCHS during all 3 lunches (11:35-1:40
ONLY); table will be set up in the Commons. Tickets will also be
available to students at ESMS & NEC on Friday during lunch. Pre-sale tickets are
$8; at the gate $10; babies in arms are FREE everyone else needs a ticket

Sat, 10/21 Cross Country TCHS is hosting the 7A Area meet on


the beautiful campus of ABAC. Meet times: VG, 11:00; VB, 11:30;
JVG, 12:00; JVB, 12:45. This is the first time south GA has hosted this
type of XC meet. Come out and support these student athletes.
They would love to see you there and admission is FREE!
