Hot Cajun cuisine, cool jazz ... and SSPC in January in New Orleans - the Big Easy!

What could be a better combination to start the New Year? As President of the SSPC Board of Governors this year, it is my
pleasure to invite you to join us for the 2018 Annual Meeting and Convention. Along with the good food and fun, we can
expect to learn whats new in the protective coatings industry.
SSPC 2018, will be held January 15th 18th, 2018, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The meeting, as always, will include innovative technical presentations, exciting networking events, state-of-the-art training
programs, and an action-packed exhibit hall. In fact, everything you will need to help you meet your personal and professional
goals in the protective coatings industry for 2018 and beyond!
The 2018 conference highlights will include:
Exhibit Hall with 140+ exhibitors, where you can interact directly with industry suppliers of abrasives, protective coatings,
application equipment, inspection equipment, professional services, and much more. See SSPC2018.com/exhibit for
further details.
Training, with 30+ programs, developed to help train coating professionals, including blasters and painters, inspectors,
consultants, engineers, and facility-owners in many aspects of our ever-evolving coatings industry. See SSPC2018.com/
training to find training courses that are helpful to you and your organization.
Technical Program, with 100+ speakers, including lectures, discussion panels and demonstrations, all focused on specific
themes. See SSPC2018.com/tech-program for further details.
Young Professionals programs are planned this year that will feature activities aimed at helping younger members of our
industry make progress in their careers and allow them the forum to bring their perspectives and new technology solutions
to move our industry forward into the future.
Committee Meetings: During our annual conference, SSPC Technical Committees will meet to discuss progress related to
development of standards, technical guidelines, etc. SSPC strongly encourages member participation in the work of these
committees for which more information can be found by visiting sspc.org/std-comm-mem.
Student Poster Session: Now a feature event at the annual meeting - interested students and education professionals will
once again take this opportunity to present the latest research and technology concepts being studied in our coatings
industry. We hope you will take a few minutes to stop by and discuss this important new work with our presenters they
will surely appreciate your interest.
Although there will be no formal SSPC-planned Guest Tours this year, SSPC staff at the convention will nevertheless
provide a selection of sightseeing and visitor activity options available in and around New Orleans during the convention
week.
It is a great honor for me to invite you to visit SSPC 2018 in New Orleans one of my personal favorite
cities in all the world. Im looking forward to mixing some business and learning with some serious
attention paid to a few crawdads and alligator sausage bites along the way maybe also with a late
evening visit to the Preservation Hall What a great way to start 2018 please join us just dont
miss it!
Sincerely,

Brian Skerry
SSPC President
