La chiave rossa è ricoperta da un cappuccio di
gomma per essere conservata in perfette condizioni,
evitando il contatto con altre chiavi. Non rimuovere questa
protezione se non in caso di necessità.

Code card
Insieme alle chiavi viene consegnata una CODE CARD (fig. I
14) sulla quale è riportato il codice elettronico (A, fig. 15),
da utilizzare in caso di blocco motore e quindi mancata
accensione dopo il key-ON.
Attenzione
La CODE CARD deve essere conservata in luogo
sicuro. È consigliabile che l’utilizzatore abbia sempre con
sé il codice elettronico riportato sulla CODE CARD,
nell’eventualità di dover effettuare lo sblocco del motore
tramite la procedura con la manopola acceleratore (vedi
pag.24).
Questa procedura offre quindi la possibilità all’utente, in
caso di problemi al sistema immobilizer, di disabilitare la fig. 14
funzione “blocco motore” indicata dall’accensione della
spia giallo ambra EOBD (5, fig. 5).

Il motociclo è dotato di una centralina a risparmio
energetico. Al fine da evitare assorbimenti di corrente in
caso di permanenza accidentale di chiave su ON, la
centralina dopo 15 secondi trascorsi senza azionare il
pulsante di avviamento, si disattiva. Per attivare
nuovamente il sistema, trascorso questo tempo,
riposizionare la chiave su OFF e nuovamente su ON.

una delle quattro posizioni previste.
Tenere conto che:
la posizione n° 1, corrisponde alla distanza massima tra la 2
leva e manopola, mentre la posizione n° 4 corrisponde alla
distanza minima.
Quando la leva (1) viene azionata si interrompe la
trasmissione dal motore al cambio e quindi alla ruota
motrice. Il suo utilizzo è molto importante in tutte le fasi di
guida del motociclo, specialmente nelle partenze.
Attenzione
La regolazione della leva frizione va effettuata a
motociclo fermo.
Importante
Un corretto utilizzo di questo dispositivo prolungherà
la vita del motore evitando danni a tutti gli organi di
trasmissione.
Note
È possibile avviare il motore con il cavalletto laterale
esteso ed il cambio in posizione di folle, oppure con la marcia
del cambio inserita, tenendo tirata la leva della frizione (in
questo caso il cavalletto laterale deve essere chiuso).

La leva di comando è dotata di un pomello (2) per la 2

regolazione della distanza della leva dalla manopola sul
manubrio.
Per effettuare la regolazione mantenere la leva (1)
completamente estesa ed agire sul pomello (2), 2
ruotandolo in corrispondenza di una delle quattro posizioni
previste.
Tenere conto che:
la posizione n° 1, corrisponde alla distanza massima tra la
leva e manopola, mentre la posizione n° 4 corrisponde alla
distanza minima.

La regolazione della leva freno anteriore va effettuata
a motociclo fermo.

Richiudere il tappo (2) con la chiave inserita e premerlo
nella sede. Ruotare la chiave in senso antiorario fino alla
posizione originale ed estrarla. Richiudere il coperchietto
(1) di protezione serratura.

Chiusura
Appoggiare la sella sui ganci di ritegno del serbatoio e 1
tirarla all’indietro fino ad avvertire l’avvenuto aggancio.
Esercitare pressione sulla parte posteriore della sella fino
ad udire lo scatto di innesto del chiavistello della serratura.
Accertarsi dell’avvenuto aggancio, tirando con
moderazione verso l’alto la sella. fig. 26
Attenzione
Questo dispositivo serve per la sicurezza del casco A
quando il motociclo è parcheggiato. Non lasciare il casco
attaccato quando si viaggia; potrebbe interferire con le
operazioni di guida e causare la perdita di controllo del
motociclo.
Il cavetto va appeso dal lato sinistro. In qualsiasi altra
posizione il cavetto impedirà la chiusura della sella.

Prima di avviare il motore imparare a conoscere i
comandi che si devono utilizzare durante la guida (vedi pag.
10).

ON (fig. 36). Verificare che la spia verde N (8, fig. 5) e ON

In caso di batteria scarica il sistema inibisce
automaticamente il trascinamento del motorino
d’avviamento.
Importante
Non far funzionare il motore ad un elevato numero di
giri quando è freddo. Aspettare il riscaldamento dell’olio e
la sua circolazione in tutti i punti che necessitano di
lubrificazione.

Attenzione
Il mancato o non corretto rimontaggio di una delle
parti rimosse può causarne l’improvviso distacco durante
la marcia con la conseguente perdita di controllo del
motociclo.
Importante
Per non danneggiare le parti verniciate e il parabrezza
in plexiglas del cupolino, ad ogni rimontaggio posizionare
sempre le rosette in nylon in corrispondenza delle viti di
fissaggio.

Cupolino mobile
I Svitare le quattro viti (1) che fissano il cupolino mobile ai
supporti provvisti di guarnizione (2).
Rimuovere il cupolino mobile completo di parabrezza (fig.

Per sostituire il parabrezza, svitare con l’apposita chiave
torx le viti (3) con rosetta in nylon (4), tenendo bloccati i
dadi gommati (5) dall’interno del capolino (fig. 41a). 2

Cupolino fisso
Svitare sui due lati del cupolino le sei viti (1) di fissaggio I
della plancia interna, quindi rimuoverla sfilandola verso

Semicarenatura sinistra

ruotare di ¼ di giro, in senso antiorario, lo sgancio rapido
(1) per liberare la parte anteriore della semicarena sinistra
(fig. 43).
Per liberare la parte posteriore della semicarena sinistra,
sfilare fino al bloccaggio il fermo (2), in corrispondenza del
supporto del telaio: per agevolare l’operazione spingere
dall’esterno sulla semicarena, in corrispondenza del fermo
(fig. 44).
Rimuovere la semicarena sinistra sfilandola dai pioli di

"Range" indication
This function indicates how far the vehicle can travel using
the fuel left in the tank. When this display function is not
selected, the display automatically switches to "Range"
indication as soon as the LOW FUEL LIGHT (10, fig. 5)
comes on and the display shows a string of dashes "- - . -"
and the indication for 10 seconds. Range indication is then
turned on automatically every 60 seconds while the low
fuel light stays on.
When the vehicle is stopped, either with the engine off or
running, the last value stored is displayed until indication is

Red key has a rubber cover for preserving it in perfect
conditions and avoiding contact with other keys. Never
remove this protection unless really needed.
The black keys are regular ignition keys and are used to:

keys, and is also used to wipe off and re-program other

A CODE CARD (fig. 14) is supplied together with the keys,

case the engine is disabled and will not start up after the
key-ON.

Keep the CODE CARD in a safe place. However, it is
advisable to keep the electronic code printed on the CODE
CARD handy when you ride your motorcycle, in case it is
necessary to remove engine block through the procedure
that uses the throttle twistgrip (see page 24). E

Lubricating joints
The condition of the outer sheaths of the throttle cables 1
should be checked at regular intervals. The sheaths should
show no signs of squeezing or cracking. Work the controls
to make sure the cable slides smoothly inside the sheath:
if you feel any friction or hard spots, have the cable
replaced by your Ducati Dealer or Authorised Workshop.
To prevent these failures it is best to remove the cover by
unscrewing the two fastening screws (1, fig. 48) and then
grease the cable end and the pulley with SHELL Advance
Grease or Retinax LX2.

Chain lubrication
The chain fitted on your motorcycle has O-rings that keep
dirt out of and lubricant inside the sliding parts. The seals
might be irreparably damaged if the chain is cleaned using
any solvent other than those specific for O-ring chains or
washed using steam or water jets. After cleaning, blow
the chain dry or dry it using absorbent material and apply
SHELL Advance Chain or Advance Teflon Chain on each
link.

Code card
Une CODE CARD (fig. 14) est fournie avec les clés. Cette
carte porte le code électronique (A, fig. 15) à introduire en
cas de blocage du moteur et donc d'allumage raté après le
key-ON.
Attention
La CODE CARD doit être rangée dans un endroit sûr.
Il est conseillé de garder toujours sur soi le code
électronique, figurant sur la CODE CARD, du fait qu'il
pourrait s'avérer nécessaire de débloquer le moteur avec
la procédure utilisant la poignée des gaz (voir page 24).
Cette procédure permet donc à l'usager, en cas de
problèmes à l'anti-démarrage électronique, de désactiver fig. 14

Quand vous tirez le levier (1), vous coupez le mouvement
que le moteur transmet à la boîte de vitesses et donc à la
roue motrice. De ce fait, son utilisation est très importante
dans toutes les phases de la conduite du motocycle, tout
particulièrement au départ.
Attention
Le réglage du levier d'embrayage doit s'effectuer
motocycle à l'arrêt.

Une utilisation appropriée de ce dispositif prolongera
la vie du moteur et évitera de porter préjudice aux organes

Refermez le bouchon (2), la clé insérée, et emboîtez-le
dans son logement. Tournez la clé dans le sens inverse

Assurez-vous de l'enclenchement de la serrure, en tirant fig. 26

Démarrage du moteur
Attention
Avant de démarrer le moteur, il est recommandé de
vous familiariser avec les commandes que vous devez
utiliser durant la conduite (voir page 10).

Dépose de l'habillage
Pour pouvoir effectuer certaines opérations d'entretien ou
de réparation il faut déposer certains éléments de
l'habillage du motocycle.
Attention
L'inexécution ou l'exécution imparfaite du serrage
d'un des éléments précédemment retirés peut en
provoquer le détachement soudain durant la marche, d'où
la perte de contrôle du motocycle.
Important
Pour ne pas porter préjudice aux éléments peints et F
au pare-brise en Plexiglas de la bulle, lors de chaque
remontage utilisez toujours les rondelles en Nylon en
correspondance avec les vis de serrage.

Bulle mobile
Dévissez les quatre vis (1) fixant la bulle mobile aux
supports munis de joint (2).
Déposez la bulle mobile avec le pare-brise ( fig. 41).
Pour remplacer le pare-brise, dévissez au moyen de la clé
torx spéciale les vis (3) avec la rondelle en nylon (4), en
bloquant les écrous caoutchoutés (5) de l'intérieur de la
bulle (fig. 41a). 2

Bulle fixe

Demi-carénage gauche
En intervenant du côté gauche, de l'intérieur du carénage,
tournez d'1/4 de tour, dans le sens inverse des aiguilles
d'une montre, le déclenchement rapide (1) pour libérer la
partie avant du demi-carénage gauche (fig. 43).
Pour libérer la partie arrière du demi-carénage gauche,
sortez l'arrêtoir (2) jusqu'à son blocage, au niveau du
support du cadre : pour faciliter l'opération, poussez de
l'extérieur le demi-carénage, au niveau de l'arrêtoir (fig.
44).
Déposez le demi-carénage gauche en le sortant des tétons

utilisation, pour prévenir la formation des halos provoqués
par l'eau qui s'évapore des surfaces demeurant encore
chaudes.
Ne pas diriger sur le motocycle de jets d'eau chaude ou
sous haute pression. L'utilisation de machines à jet de
vapeur est susceptible de provoquer des grippages ou des
anomalies aux fourches, moyeux de roue, système
électrique, joints SPI de la fourche, ouïes d'aération et pots
d'échappement, ce qui réduit les standards de sécurité du

Si quelques parties du moteur devaient être
particulièrement sales ou encrassées, utilisez un
dégraissant à nettoyer, tout en empêchant qu'il entre au
contact des organes de la transmission (chaîne, pignon,
couronne, etc.).
Rincez le motocycle à l'eau tiède et essuyez toutes ses

Angabe der Strecke, die man noch mit dem Fahrzeug

Funktion, tritt es auf das Aufleuchten der
KRAFTSTOFFRESERVEANZEIGE (10, Abb. 5) automatisch
in die Funktion "Restautonomie" und zeigt sie 10 Sekunden
lang gemeinsam mit den Linien "- -.-" an. Über die gesamte
Zeit, in der die Kontrollleuchte aufleuchtet, wird diese
automatische Anzeige alle 60 Sekunden erneut aktiviert.
Bei laufendem Motor und stehendem Fahrzeug zeigt das
Display so lange die zuletzt gespeicherte Date an, bis
letztere erneuert wird.
Hinweis
Die Übermittlung der Date erfolgt alle 10 Sekunden
mit einer Präzision von 0,5 km.
Hinweis
Diese Fahrzeug hat einen besonders langen Tank.
Die Kraftstoffpegelanzeige könnte bei langen Fahrten an
Steigungen daher etwas von der Angabe des reelen
Pegelstands abweichen.

Funktion - Rückbeleuchtung
Die Rückbeleuchtung des Instrumentenbretts ist nur bei
eingeschaltetem Standlicht oder Fahrzeugscheinwerfern
aktiv.
In diesem Fall schaltet das Instrumentenbrett, dank seiner
Sensoren, die die Lichtintensität und die Umgebungs-
temperatur erfassen, seine Rückbeleuchtung automatisch
ein oder aus.

Der rote Schlüssel ist mit einer Gummikappe
ausgestattet, die seine Aufbewahrung im perfekten
Zustand ermöglicht. Ihn nicht mit anderen Schlüsseln in
Kontakt bringen. Diesen Schutz nur im erforderlichen Fall
abnehmen.

Code Card
Gemeinsam mit den Schlüsseln wird eine CODE CARD
(Abb. 14) ausgehändigt, auf der der elektronische Code (A,
Abb. 15) angegeben ist, der im Fall einer ausgelösten
Motorsperre bzw. einer mangelnden Zündung nach einem
Key-ON zu verwenden ist.
Achtung
Die CODE CARD an einem sicheren Ort
aufbewahren. Ein Mitführen des elektronischen und auf
der CODE CARD angegeben Codes ist jedoch
empfehlenswert, falls sich eine Motorfreigabe anhand des
Verfahrens erforderlich machen sollte, bei dem der
Gasdrehgriff (siehe Seite 24) entsprechend betätigt

Dieses Verfahren gibt dem Anwender die Möglichkeit, im
Fall von Störungen am Immobilizer-System, die Funktion
der "Motorsperre", die durch Aufleuchten der
ockerfarbenen Kontrollleuchte EOBD (5, Abb. 5) angezeigt
wird, freizugeben.

Dieses Motorrad ist mit einem energiesparenden
Steuergerät ausgestattet. Bleibt der Zündschlüssel zufällig
auf ON, ohne dass der Anlasser betätigt wird, schaltet sich
das Steuergerät nach 15 Sekunden aus und vermeidet
dadurch eine überflüssige Energieentnahme. Nach Ablauf
dieser Zeit muss der Zündschlüssel für ein erneutes
Aktivieren erst wieder auf OFF und dann erneut auf ON
gedreht werden.

Wird der Hebel (1) betätigt, kommt es zu einer
Unterbrechung des Antriebs vom Motor zum Getriebe,
d.h. zum Antriebsrad. Die Anwendung dieses Hebels ist in
allen Fahrphasen des Motorrads von ausschlaggebender
Bedeutung, besonders aber beim Anfahren.
Achtung
Die Regulierung des Kupplungshebels muss bei

Die Sitzbank auf dem Klemmhäken des Tanks auflegen
und so lange nach hinten ziehen, bis man das
Einhakgeräusch vernehmen konnte. So lange auf den
hinteren Sitzbankteil drücken, bis man das
Einrastgeräusch des Schlossriegels vernehmen konnte. Abb. 26

Diese Vorrichtung dient der Absicherung des Helms,

Um die Klappe des Dokumentenfachs öffnen zu können,
muss der Zündschlüssel in das Schloss (1) eingesteckt 1

bis man das erfolgte Lösen der Riegel (Abb. 28)

Bewegliche Cockpitverkleidung
Die vier Schrauben, die für die Befestigung der
beweglichen Cockpitverkleidung an dem mit Dichtungen
(2) versehenden Haltern zuständig sind, abnehmen.
Die bewegliche Cockpitverkleidung komplett mit
Windschutzscheibe (Abb. 41) abnehmen.
Für den Austausch der Windschutzscheibe die Schrauben
(3) mit Nylon-Unterlegscheibe (4) mit einem Torx- 2
Schlüssel lösen, dabei die gummibeschichteten Muttern
(5) von der Innenseite der Cockpitverkleidung (Abb. 41a)

Feste Cockpitverkleidung
Die sechs Schrauben (1) für die Befestigung der inneren

Schnellverankerung (1) um ¼ gegen den Uhrzeigersinn

Um den hinteren Teil der linken Verkleidungshälfte
freilegen zu können, das Feststellelement (2) bis zum
Blockieren am Rahmenhalter herausziehen: Um diesen

Das Motorrad nicht sofort nach dessen Einsatz
waschen, da es in diesem Fall, durch das Verdampfen des
Wassers auf den warmen Oberflächen, zu Schlieren
kommen könnte. Keine Heißwasser- oder
Hochdruckstrahler auf das Motorrad richten. Der Einsatz
von Wasserstrahlreinigern könnte ein Einfressen oder
starke Störungen an den Gabeln, Radnaben, an der
elektrischen Anlage, den Dichtungen der Vorderradgabel,
den Lufteinlassschlitzen oder den Schalldämpfern am
Auspuff erzeugen, was den Verlust der Sicherheits-
merkmale zur Folge hat.
Sollten sich bestimmte Motorteile als besonders
verschmutzt oder schmierig erweisen, kann man für deren
Reinigung ein Fettlösemittel verwenden. Dabei ist jedoch
zu vermeiden, dass es mit den Antriebsorganen (Kette,
Ritzel, Kettenblatt, usw.) in Kontakt kommt.

Sicherungen
Der Hauptsicherungskasten (1, Abb. 76) befindet sich
unter der linken Verkleidungshälfte (siehe Seite 56). Die
verwendeten Sicherungen sind nach dem Abnehmen der 1
Schutzkappe zugänglich.
Über dies Sicherungen in diesem Sicherungskasten sind
weitere seitlich an der Batterie angeordnet.

Wichtig
Um eventuelle Kurzschlüsse zu vermeiden, müssen
die Austauscharbeiten der Sicherungen bei einem auf
OFF stehenden Zündschlüssels erfolgen.
Achtung
Niemals Sicherungen mit Eigenschaften verwenden,
die von den vorgeschriebenen Werten abweichen. Eine Abb. 78
mangelnde Beachtung dieser Vorschrift kann eine
Beschädigung des elektrischen Systems oder gar einen
Brand zur Folge haben.
