Title of Lesson: Division (Divisibility)

Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills/Standards:

111.5. Grade 3, Adopted 2012.
(b) Knowledge and skills.
(3) Number and operations. The student applies mathematical process
standards to represent and explain fractional units. The student is
expected to:
(E) solve problems involving partitioning an object or a set of
objects among two or more recipients using pictorial
representations of fractions with denominators of 2, 3, 4, 6, and
8;
(4) Number and operations. The student applies mathematical process
standards to develop and use strategies and methods for whole number
computations in order to solve problems with efficiency and accuracy.
The student is expected to:
(K) solve one-step and two-step problems involving
multiplication and division within 100 using strategies based on
objects; pictorial models, including arrays, area models, and equal
groups; properties of operations; or recall of facts.

Objective/Purpose:
Student will complete a worksheet and turn it in for grading.
Students can work in a group of 4 or 5 to complete the assignment
together as well as go over the chapters in their notebook.
Students will recall and improve their division skills.
Calculator will not be allowed for this assignment.

Introduce Lesson:
Start the lesson by warm up problems. Students will have to complete
the assignment in their notebook for a grade. (Please write these
problems on the board before students arrived)
Warm up problems:

1. 25 5 = __ 2. 30 2 = __

2. 50 5 = __ 3. 20 2 = __
Students will understand the basic of Division with whole numbers.

Example:

Key is provided for the assignment, if students need more problem, an

extra worksheet is added.

Lesson:
Begin the lesson by giving the warm up problems. Students have 10-
minutes to complete their warm up. The problems are to refresh
students over division lesson that they have learned from their
previous class.
I have provided a worksheet for students to complete below. Students
are allowed to work in group with no more than 5 students.
Students are not allowed to use the calculator for this specific
assignment. If any of the student violate the rule, the assignment will
be marked as a zero and there is no make up for this assignment.
If the students do not finish this assignment in class, it is homework
and due the next day.
If the students finish early, they will have to remain quiet for other
students to complete their work by reading a book or doing their other
class homework.
When working on their worksheet, students are expecting to
understand the lesson by this time. Inform the students to go over their
notes or ask their group mates if there is any confusion.
If the student does not understand completely, it is okay I will go over
the lesson tomorrow with that specific student.
Students who completed their assignment will turn it in to the
assignment box (students are familiar with this box). While students
who have not complete the assignment will have to do it for
homework and it is due the next class period.

Reteach:
As mentioned, students should be very familiar with this lesson, and
should have enough materials to help them with this assignment.
If needed students are allowed to go back to their notes, or book for
