The teacher wanted to include an art activity for the children to
do as Halloween is approaching and they are focusing on
pumpkins and the letter P this week. Most children know during
Halloween you carve pumpkins so instead of carving actual
pumpkins all the kids are able to create their own with paper
bags.
Jack-O-Lanterns
3 objectives
- The children will be able to communicate their ideas and
make connections through art (22.1)
- They will have the opportunity to explore a variety of
tools, and materials (30.2) to create a jack-o-lantern.
- (31.3) The children will be able to explore different
elements of design, different textures, different tools,
and different colours.
Materials used
- Paper Bags
- Orange Paint
- Green Paint
Construction Paper
Step-by-step Description
The Students will all get a brown bag and they will paint of it
in orange paint, then later they will paint the rest of the bag
green. They will then glue the rest of the face and will be able to
transform the bag into a Jack-O-Lantern.
