In this activity the SKs will be involved.
Where will the experience take place?
This place will take place indoors in a circle on the carpet.
Materials Used
- 6 pictures of words that have a CH sound
- 6 pictures of words that have a SH sound
- 1 purple mini garbage can labeled CH
- 1 green mini garbage can labeled SH
How will the activity be implemented?
I will get the SKs to create a circle on the carpet and then I will
explain to them I have two very hungry garbage cans. I will then
show them the first can which is the SH and ask them if they
remember what they learned last week and what is the sound. I
then will repeat the question for CH to see if they remember. I
then will let them know they only eat pictures with the CH sound
or SH sound and one by one they will have an opportunity to
look at the pictures and tell the class what sound it is and then
they will be able to decide which garbage bin it will go in to.

1) Sensory Engagement The children will have an
opportunity to have first hand experience, and as they
learn best by using their sense, they will be able to use
their sightas they see the different pictures, hearingI
will be asking them questions and they can talk about

touch the pictures and figure out which trashcan the
picture will go in.
2) Questions I will be asking the children what the picture
I am holding is and what sound does it make, as well as
asking them which bin it will be going into whether CH
or SH.
