I would - List the materials and start by asking what two colours did they want to use to make resources you will use the pattern. I would then guide the children to start at the top - Describe the completion of and alternate between the two colours to dab the shirt, as they the task, with a step by step fill it across. Once they filled one line of alternating colours I description would ask them if they notice a pattern? If yes ask them what the pattern is? AB pattern If they do not notice a pattern I would explain a pattern is something that is continuously happening and let them know that the two colours they are using are creating a pattern.
