In response to your reading of Aaron Coplands The Gifted Listener, write a one-page

analysis of his discussion of one of the following topics as it relates to listening:

creativity

mastery

authority

history

Explain, clearly and concisely, using a third-person singular voice, the ways in which Copland

conceives of one of the topics listed above. This exercise, like all assignments in this class, must

be written according to the conventions of MLA style. Your analysis should provide your reader

with a clear understanding of the relationship between Coplands definition of listening and his

understanding of the topic you choose to explore, and should emphasize the content and

significance of the text under consideration through the use of clear and specific evidence. This

exercise is due on Monday, September 11.
