TO PROVIDE SOLE PRESCRIPTION SERVICE TO

PENNSYLVANIA STATE EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION
HealthWays new Philadelphia prescription facility will create over 40 jobs

PHILADELPHIA (April 15, 2017)The Pennsylvania State Employees Association selected

HealthWay Pharmacies, Inc. to be the sole provider of a mail-in prescription service to its

members for four years.

This partnership is the first of its kind for the Employee Association and has the

potential to double HealthWays Mail-Meds service over the next two years. As a part of

the Month of Development campaign, HealthWay will move its prescription handling

facility to a new location in Philadelphia to conduct separate record keeping for each of its

clients. The move will generate more jobs for Philadelphia. HealthWay will begin

construction May 1, 2017.

HealthWay is honored to be the sole prescription provider to the Pennsylvania

State Employees Association, said Marsha Robinson, Chairman of HealthWay Pharmacies,

Inc.

We are excited to work with HealthWay to provide our employees with an

exceptional and convenient health care system, said J.D. Smith, Director of the Health

Insurance Division of PSEA. HealthWays Mail-Meds system is crucial for the Employee

Association and will benefit over 1 million state employees.

The Philadelphia prescription facility is to receive financial support from the

Pennsylvania State Office of Economic Development under the governors New Jobs; New

Opportunities initiative and will be a major part of HealthWays Month of Development

campaign. HealthWays new facility will create jobs for the community by employing over

40 additional staff in non-professional categories, as well as licensed pharmacists and

pharmacy technicians.

HealthWays participation and outreach in actively boosting Philadelphias

economy is an outstanding example for what other large companies in the community can

do too, said Linda McManus, Director of the Pennsylvania Office of Economic

Development.

HealthWays structural plans for the prescription facility in Philadelphia include

dividing the building into two separate processing departments connected by a common

shipping department. The shipping department will utilize further automation to take

advantage of available bulk shipping rates with several carriers.
