Foreword
It is matter of great delight to share with you our livelihood promotion model of Bharatpur. It was
indomitable spirit of the people in the district and the resolve of Lupin team that made livelihood
promotion programme a thrive and sustain over a decade.
Though India had seen tremendous growth during last two and half decades, it is a matter of concern that
we are still one of laggard country when it comes to Human Development indicators. Poverty eradication
still remains a primary goal even after 2/3 century of independence. By focussing on equipping the work
force with knowledge, skills and job creation, as well as higher productivity and improved delivery of
services, we not only can eradicate poverty but move towards empowerment and significant
improvement in Human Development indicators.
Different models of livelihood promotion were tried and tested in the past by the country. The challenges
at home are in abundance and so are the opportunities. Now the time has come for corporate sector to
take lead and offer right kind of model for livelihood development. Sitaram Gupta

After clearly understanding the processes required on the Tulsi

an improved device (Prototype) for making beads for Tulsi Mala.
