**If anyone have more question pls join Eco Green Living & Garbage Enzyme to learn together.
It is not neccessary to pay for expensive workshop to learn, as a housewife I can do it You can do it too !!!
You can homemade yourself !!!! Trust Me !!! Summarizing my past 3 years knowledges and experiences as
following to whom ever wanted to help our mother nature and reduce all commercial chemical detergent.
What is Fermentation ?
It is a natural process to make cheese, beer, wine, miso, tofu, tempeh, saurekraut, bread,
sourdough,.Fermentation is a metabolic process in which an organism converts a carbohydrate,
such as starch or sugar, into an alcohol or an acid. For example, yeast performs fermentation to obtain
energy by converting sugar into alcohol. Bacteria perform fermentation, converting carbohydrates into
lactic acid (probiotics).
For making Garbage Enzyme , all you need are 3 items i.e. sugar + water + fruits & veggie waste.

White yeast - stir more frequently
Green Mold - stir more frequently do not need to do anything, or if you worry scoop mold away, add 1 part
sugar ferment from beginning again for 3 months.
Black Mold - scoop away all the black mold , add 1 part of sugar , ferment from beginning again i.e. 3
months.

25. What is the difference between Garbage Enzyme (Fermentation) and Composting ?
- Composting : is a nature's process of recycling organic matter, lots of food and scraps can go thru
decomposting of organic matter by microorganisms (let the nature biodegraded/decomposting/decay broken
down organic matter) into fertilized dirts for organic farming. No need to keep in water, also needs worms to
help turning compost.
- Garbage Enzyme : is to upcycle only fruits and veggies peels/scraps goes thru fermentation process and turn it
into useful solution (organic vinegar) , to more specific it is an homemade fruit scrap vinegar with enzymes.
Needs to keep in water. We need bacteria and yeast to help turning into vinegar.
27. Why less processed sugar smell nicer than white sugar ?
- It is because less processed sugar got more mineral and nutrition remain in sugar
- provide better food to yeast and bacteria for fermentation.
- Again EE is not for drinking so it is not a must to use molasses although Dr.Rosukan suggest to use
molasses / muscovado.
- it is too expensive in Singapore, so we should use any cheap , less processed sugar, available in our
region e.g. gula melaka , palm sugar, slab sugar, or jaggery.
- In Taiwan , their muscovado/molasses are very cheap therefore many friends using molasses for
making their EE.

- flower EE e.g. Frangipani flower, Kapok/Ceiba/Bombax Ceiba flower EE (only flowers , make sure no
pesticides).
- Garlic, Onion, Chilli EE for pesticides.
- Mixed Fruit EE for multi purposes.
- Ginger Enzyme for hair shampoo.
29. If you do not have EE now can you use rice vinegar or Apple cider vinegar as cleaning detergent ?
- YES, WE CAN.
30. More recipes and idea of using vinegar/EE in household from our Grandma, refers to following pages.
33. Does Eco Enzyme have any side effects? Is it Harmful to us for personal use ?
8
Prepared by Joyce Cheng, May 2016 Facebook : Eco Green Living & Garbage Enzyme
- NO , it is natural
- through fermentation process , just like homemade our cultured foods and drinks.
34. Why should we make Eco Enzyme? How many people have to make Eco Enzyme in order to save the
Earth?
- All of us are responsible for taking care of the Earth as it is seriously ill. We must put efforts in
protecting nature and restoring ecosystems in order to create a sustainable environment for future
generations. And making Eco Enzyme is an easy but effective way to save the Earth. Making Eco
Enzyme is a way of recycling, as the ingredients needed are meat free food waste. If all of us make
Eco Enzyme on a regular basis, it will be beneficial to our communities and ultimately, the Earth.
Lets promote Eco Enzyme together. Everyone counts.
35. How many time can we reuse our plastic container for making EE ??
According to the recycle plastic coding no. system, If it is no.1 , recommend only ferment EE 1 time then do
not reuse but reuse for other purpose e.g. in planting or decoration or artwork.
If it is no.2, 4 & 5 plastic can ferment EE for 2-3 times depends how long, e.g. if u ferment more than 1 year
not recommend to do 2 round only. If u ferment for 4-6months can still reuse to ferment 2more times.

Common Usage :-
Make sure tested on your skin before using , to avoid too acidic on skin and get hurt ,
different people have different skin type
2) Dish Washing
1 EE : 1 : 1
**always test on your skin first, if too acidic wear glove, otherwise dilute with some water for sensitive
skin.
3) Laundry
30-50ml EE: 1/2 cup of your required laundry detergent or 150-300ml EE no detergent
**need to watch out for white color clothes it will bleach them white.
4) Rinse & Soak Veggie & Fruits, get rid away pesticides
10ml : 500ml water
Soaked for 45mins before eating veggies/fruits
Make sure tested on your skin before using , to avoid too acidic on skin and get hurt ,
different people have different skin type
7) Floor Mopping

8) Cooking Stove
Just pour EE directly onto cooking stove let it soak for a while , when clean you can easily wipe away
everything including burnt marks. Or use spray bottle to spray and clean.
9) General cleaning
Dilute 10ml enzyme in a 100ml spray bottle for general kitchen / bathroom cleaning. Make sure that
enzyme is finely filtered to avoid blockage of spray nozzle.

14) Air freshener: Spray diluted enzyme around household (1:200 dilution)
15) Air purifying: Use empty condiment bottles (e.g. peppercorn bottle. salt bottle), fill with enzyme and
place in fridge or around the house can help to purify air.
16) Enzyme residue: place residue in a small muslin bag, knot and then hang inside cistern to clean
drainage. Works especially well if uses salt water flush. Mix with lanolin oil / coconut oil etc and use as
moisturizer can also help to improve eczema and dry skin condition. There is a lot to learn about Garbage
enzyme, start your own now and enjoy a chemical free living.
and How to choose plastic bottle when making Eco/Garbage Enzyme ? How many time you can reuse
the pail/container in making EE ??
Can you imagine if we can help low income family or ppl in poor region if they know how to make apple
cider vinegar then they should know how to make Eco Enzyme (EE) to turn all their fruit n veggie peels
into a useful vinegar detergent to help their everyday life.
We like to inspire people to make their own EE becuz (1) you are reduce & upcycle your kitchen waste
but (2) convert them into useful chemical free solution for cleaning, plants fertilizing or natural
pesticides. (3) When u make EE u need to get plastic bottle from wet market which means u r rescuing &
reuse plastic container give it a 2nd life i/o going to Landfill. (4) We want to help low income family to
replace expensive detergent. (5) we want to let more ppl knows we have a choice to stop using chemical
and or commercial products.
About Plastic bottle, received question asking which no. of plastic bottle and how many times to
ferment EE.
If it is no.1 , recommend only ferment EE 1 time then do not reuse but reuse for other purpose e.g. in
planting or decoration or artwork.
If it is no.2, 4 & 5 plastic can ferment EE for 2-3 times depends how long, e.g. if u ferment more than 1
year not recommend to do 2nd round. If u ferment for 4-6months can still reuse to ferment 2more times.
