school retreat Encounter 2017: I am His was held at the Training
Centre in Ukarumpa on September 15-19. Marty spoke in five sessions
titled I am His, Fear, Living Positive, Depression and Never
Alone. A total of 92 people, adults and students grades 9-12, were
ministered to over the five days spent together. We worshipped
intensely, dug into the Word together, prayed together, played hard
together and much more.

It was a challenge to prepare the logistics for the event with Marty as
the speaker. However, God is gracious and good and we believe we
were obedient to His leading for the event. Please pray that God will
continue to minister to the hearts of all of those who attended and
draw each of us into a more intimate relationship with Himself.

We have purchased our plane tickets to return for our upcoming
furlough next June! However, the purchase and several consecutive
lower than budgeted months have us without any savings. This,
combined with growing debt to our entity, leads us to communicate
with you about our financial need. Please join us in praying for Gods
provision for new or increased monthly partnerships as well as one-
time gifts to meet our current debt with our entity and allow us to
continue to provide for Taylor and Tia while they are in school.
Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord
watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. (Psalm 127:1, NIV)
God has been so faithful to provide for us through so many individuals
and churches during the last almost seven (!) years since we joined
Wycliffe. We are so grateful to Him because of you! Thank you for
giving and praying faithfully to support the work of Bible translation
here in Papua New Guinea. Please continue to pray for us and the
MKs we seek to love on here in Ukarumpa.
