1 Introduction

1.1 Audience
This document is intended for network engineers who are involved in the migration of training
activities from Practice Training to the Amadeus Training Environment.

It is assumed readers are already familiar with the Capture/Restore concept and its effect. This
process is described in the Amadeus Training User Guide document.

1.2 What Is Amadeus Training Environment?

Amadeus Training Environment is the dedicated environment for delivering training on Amadeus
products and functionality. It is also referred to in this document as SKL, as the platform is also known
as Skilling or SKL.

1.3 Purpose of This Document

This document helps the network engineer to:

Decide the printing method, and define or reconfigure printers (and devices) as necessary.

Open Work Orders (or Change Requests) to start the migration of printers

1.4 Why defining printers in SKL?

Unlike Practice Training which uses Production printers, Amadeus Training Environment (a.k.a. SKL)
requires that printers are defined specifically for this environment.

A given physical printer cannot work in both Production and SKL environments at the same time.

1.5 Work Orders

Throughout this document, work orders are mentioned as a mean to request updates in Amadeus
Training Environment. Work orders must be used when the updates cannot be performed by the
trainers or their support organisation (ACO or Airline Help Desk) themselves and/or when the set-up
required must be maintained with values different from Production for the long-term, and not be
overridden by the result of the capture/restore process.

Unless otherwise stated, all work-orders related to Printers must be assigned to Amadeus Test
Coordination Team (DAPPATC) and title must start with SKL.

with Amadeus Training

2.1 Virtual or Real Printers?

You have a choice of using virtual printers or connecting physical printers.

2.1.1 Virtual Printing

Although it is possible to obtain paper documents in Amadeus Training Environment, in most cases it
is not necessary to issue physical prints during a training session as long as the whole system
behaviour can be simulated when a printing function is invoked.

This capability is offered via virtual printing. Four virtual printers have been defined in Amadeus
Training environment, grouped under set D00062: an ATB printer, a TAT printer, a GEN printer and an
AIR end-point. They are seen by the applications as regular printers connected to the system and
allow the exercising of all functions that require a printer to be connected: printing, issuance of
electronic ticket with TTP or transmission of Back Office AIRs to AIR end-point for example. But there
is no physical paper printing nor record transmission.

2.1.2 Real Printing

Real printing is possible but it requires the definition of printers in the Print Services Database specific
to SKL.

We recommend real printers only when printing is mandatory in your training courses.

Using a virtual printer for training is the recommended printing solution.

2.2 Connecting Virtual Printers

By default, unless otherwise requested, all offices in the system have been assigned the virtual
printers set D00062 so that printing functions can work.

In case this has been modified, set D00062 can be re-attached to any office profile using the PVM
entry to change the following fields:

PSM field: Set this to D00062 (the entry to do this is PVM/PSM-D00062)

DCP, DXP and DMP fields: Set to NIL (the entry to do this is PVM/DCP-NIL, etc...)

April 2013
Page 6 of 13 Amadeus Training Environment Skilling Printer Connectivity Guidelines
To make these definitions permanent, i.e. not impacted by the Capture/Restore process, please
submit a work-order and request the set-up to be permanent.

Notes:

The security setup on Amadeus Training allows users signed in to Amadeus Training to make
changes to the PSM/DCP/DXP/DMP fields of their office profile.

If you experience issues, please follow the instructions in the Amadeus Training User Guide,
Chapter "Training Specifics", section "User Groups".
.

2.3 Connecting Physical Printers

This section applies if you must print paper documents. The flowchart below gives an overview of the
possibilities:

2.4 Defining Real Printers on Amadeus Training
As mentioned in the introduction, printers need to be specifically defined in Amadeus Training. They
cannot be shared with Production. Should you wish to re-use printers that were defined in Production
and used in Practice Training; you still need to request definitions in Amadeus Training.

As in Production, it is necessary in Amadeus Training to define a security set which contains all office
printers, and possibly sets which may contain some of the printers present in the security set (different
sets can then be connected to specific terminals)Bearing in mind that defining too many sets can
add some unnecessary complexity!

We recommend that a unique set is defined which will be the security set and the unique set common
to all office terminals. We describe this option in the following paragraph.

2.4.1 Defining Real Printers

This is done by mean of work-orders that must be assigned to Amadeus ATC team (Amadeus Test
Coordination Team - DFAPPATC), with the following information supplied:

- The Office Id

- The Printer ATIDs and associated printer types

- The list of CRTs that must be linked to the printers, or the mention that all CRT of the offices
must be linked.

- State whether or not the printer uses an Amadeus DDIP server. If not a DDIP server, please
specify which system manages the printers.

Note: If printers are transferred from Production, you are strongly advised to include a Production
TTQ list display as this will clarify and confirm the printer information. Even better would be the output
of a YND display (if you have sufficient authorisation).

For example, should the following Production configuration be re-used in Amadeus Training, your
Work Order should append the following information:

Note: After creation, the mnemonics of the printers and of the sets will be different from those
from Production as they will be assigned by PSDB in SKL environment.

2.4.2 Adding a Real DAIR Printer to a Set of Virtual Printers
In order to train end-to-end on AIR, from their generation up to back-office processes, it may be
required to define real DAIR printer whereas virtual printers are sufficient for other processes (ticketing
or invoicing). This results in a mix of real and virtual printers in the set of printers of the office, the
virtual printers DGEN, DTAT and DATB being the same than in D00062
Like in previous case, this is done by mean of work-orders that must be assigned to Amadeus ATC
team (Amadeus Test Coordination Team - DFAPPATC), with the following information supplied:

- The Office Id

- The Printer ATIDs and associated printer types

- The list of CRTs that must be linked to the printers, or the mention that all CRT of the offices
must be linked.

The following WO format is recommended:

Purpose of this WO is to define a new DAIR printer and include it in a

set of printers in SKL environment.

ATID of the AIR printer to be created : nnlniata

This new printer must then be included into a new Set, to be created
as well, together with following (virtual) printers :

PRT ATID REMOTE MNEMONIC TYPE

58CCB7B1 . DA0169 DGEN
58CCB7B2 . DA0170 DATB
58CCB7B3 . DA0171 DTAT

This new Set must then be applied in the PSM field of the following
office id in Amadeus Training (SKL)
Office : OFFICE_ID

All terminals of the office must be cross-referenced to this set.

Definitions must be made permanent in SKL and PDT environments.

Assigned to Amadeus Test Coordination, to handle with Enterprise Tools:

TPF Comms Application Dev.

Where nnlniata, the identifier of the DAIR printer in Production (obtained from TTQLIST), and
OFFICE_ID must be changed to their real value.

Note: This set-up is only possible with DAIR printers, not with other kinds of AIR destination
addresses.

2.4.3 Configuring DDIP Printers and Devices

Amadeus Document Distribution over I.P. (DDIP) connects your printers and devices to a DDIP server.

If you have DDIP printers (or devices), you need to reconfigure the print server to communicate with
Amadeus Training instead of Production. To do this, you'll need to:

April 2013
Page 9 of 13 Amadeus Training Environment Skilling Printer Connectivity Guidelines
Start the appropriate Pro Printer configuration tool

Change the DDIP server URL

Restart the Pro Printer system service.

If you want to switch the printer back to printing on Production, then you need to repeat the steps
above and reset the original settings.

This section explains:

1. Prerequisites before you can start to reconfigure the DDIP print server.

2. The steps to reconfigure the DDIP print server.

3. How to check the printer has been switched successfully.

2.4.3.1 Prerequisites

2.4.3.1.1 Pro Printer ATIDs need to be defined in the Training PSDB

The Pro Printer ATIDs used for printing on Amadeus training have to be defined in Amadeus Training
(SKL) as real printers. Please refer to 2.4.1 Defining Real Printers.

2.4.3.1.2 Access to Amadeus Training (SKL) DDIP server

The training DDIP server needs to be reached from the PC connecting your printer or devices. If your
network is protected by a firewall and proxies, make sure that they will accept communication from the
appropriate training DNS server.
