I am a confident, professional and enthusiastic 4th year undergraduate engineer, with proven
communication skills and an ability to quickly form effective working relationships. I am
organised and committed, and keen to work with people to make a positive difference in a
business environment. I offer a strong academic background and good engineering skills
developed from industrial placements, projects and university courses.

Relevant work Aerospace research placement at Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group (2 months):
experience: Delivered safety engineering assessments as part of in depth safety review, including formal
report and summary presentation to senior managers. Commended for my contribution.
Placement at Nanjing University of Aerospace and Astronautics, China (1 month): Designed
and manufactured a product using CAD software, CAM lathes, mills and laser cutters and
manual machining while communicating in English and Chinese. Attended language and
culture classes and achieved the basics of Mandarin.
Collaboration with University of Johannesburg and designer David Tlale, South Africa (1
month): Designed and manufactured bespoke mixed metal-work designs using traditional
and contemporary techniques. Developed knowledge of materials and processing, and the
impact of good design.
Organised a successful engineering discussion series for Women in STEM society (3
months): Organised, advertised and presented an interactive discussion series, which
featured women in engineering industry and research. Demonstrated good presentation and
public speaking skills.
Restaurant Waitress and Manager (full/part -time, 5 years): Promoted to manager after
demonstrating consistent commitment and attention to process improvement. Fully
responsible for leading staff, cash takings and customer service.
Tour Guide during University of Edinburgh Engineering Department open days.

Awards and: Royal Academy of Engineering Leaders Scholarship, won in 2017 after an in-depth, full-day
Education: assessment. Successfully advocated my ambition to improve artificial limb and prosthetic
designs.
