I. OBJECTIVES
1. Determines risk factors related to lifestyle disease (obesity, diabetes, heart,
disease);
2. Name the different eating disorders;
3. Identify the picture whether it is an anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge
eating disorder, and emotional eating; and
4. Reflect the importance of engaging in a regular recreation and fitness activities
to prevent health consequences of excessive body weight.

2.1 PRIMING

PASS THE MEASSAGE

Ok class at this point we will be having


an activity. This activity is entitled PASS
THE MESSAGE. Each group must have
five representatives. The first
representative of each group will
memorize the certain words written in a
strip paper in a short time. Then he/she
will pass the message to his/her group
mate until the last group mate get the
message. The last representative will write
the message in the blackboard that he/she
received.

habit with the combination of daily exercise

Eating disorders are illnesses that
involve crucial disturbances in eating
behaviors thought to stem from some
environmental pressures.

Upon knowing of others, we have four


different eating disorders that are
characterized by an intense fear of
becoming fat, which does not disappear
even when the person is losing weight in
extreme amounts. Take a look at the
following eating disorders.

Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder
characterized by self-imposed starvation to
lose and maintain very low body weight
due to a false/distorted perception of being
fat.
How about the bulimia nervosa, what
does it mean?

Bulimia nervosa is an eating disorder
characterized by a pattern of binge eating
and purging in an attempt to lose weight
and/or maintain low body weight.

Binge-eating disorder is an eating
disorder characterized by uncontrollable
episodes of eating excessive amounts of
food within a relatively short time.
Now we are in the last eating disorder
which is the emotional eating, kindly read
its definition.
Emotional eating is the consumption of
large qualities of food to suppress negative
emotions.
