You may encounter ve different kinds of questions about


wheelchair accessibility on Google Maps:

1. Is there a wheelchair-accessible entrance?


2. Is there a wheelchair-accessible restroom?
3. Is there wheelchair-accessible seating?
4. Is there wheelchair-accessible parking?
5. Is there a wheelchair-accessible elevator?

Here are a few tips for answering these questions accurately:

Is there a wheelchair-accessible entrance?


Answer yes if a places entrance is at least one meter wide and does not have steps (or
has a ramp). One meter is about the width of two people standing comfortably side by
side. If a place does not have an entrance, answer yes. If a place only has a revolving door,
answer no.

Is there a wheelchair-accessible restroom?


Answer yes if the entrance to the restroom is at least one meter wide and can be reached
without going up or down steps. If a person in a wheelchair would need to enter a stall
inside the restroom, the stalls entrance also needs to be one meter wide. (Remember, one
meter is about the width of two people standing comfortably side by side.)

Is there wheelchair-accessible seating?


Answer yes if the main area of the business can be accessed without going up or down
steps and there is enough space for someone in a wheelchair to navigate and sit. If a
place like a bar or restaurant only has high tables (at standing level), answer no.

Is there wheelchair-accessible parking?


Answer yes if there is at least one parking spot designated for people with accessibility
needs. These are usually marked with placards, signs, or painting on the ground.

Is there a wheelchair-accessible elevator?


Answer yes if a place has multiple floors and there is an elevator that is large enough to
accommodate a wheelchair.
