Ten people died in traffic accidents in Atambua, Belu.

Until now the police continue to try to


ascertain cause accidents. A fuel truck lost control while speeding on the Nurobo road, Belu and
suffered serious accident. The truck crashed a motorcycle and a bus that came from the opposite
direction and burned. A pedestrian who saw the incident said that the fuel truck was seen
speeding then all of sudden swerved and hit a motorcyclist who came from the front and the bus
on 1st August 2017.
This incident made the motorcycle rider was killed instantly after being hit by the truck while the
truck driver suffered serious injuries to the chest and head. While the bus driver was also killed.
The fuel truck driver claimed, during the incident, he was sleepy when driving the truck then he
tried to stop the vehicle to avoid an accident, but the brakes do not work, so he couldnt control
his truck and hit the victim. Accident ensued that killed 10 people, while 15 people were
wounded.
The scene of the crime scene using Traffic Accident Analyst system, with a transport car equipped
with TAA system, a tool in the form of a sensor to describe the incident of the accident.

Ten people killed by accident occurred at Nurobo, District Ingreo, Belu Tuesday (8/1/2017)
morning were passengers of the bus. They were: Adelia Manafe (4), Marselinus Amfotis (72),
Yohanes Manafe (11), the three are from Niki-niki Village, Timor Tengah Selatan, Amelia Seran
(6) and Edeltrudis Seran (23), both from Umasukaer, Malaka, Jonathan Taek (56), Adelino De
Jesus (46), Katarina Paulina De Jesus (30), Maria Gomes Sarmento Faria (24) and the driver
Natalius Seran Nahak (28) from Atambua. While 1 passenger of fuel truck name Migel Soares (19)
suffered critical injuries. The current victims had been taken to Mgr. Gabriel Manek hospital to
be treated.
