For this section, observe a child between the age of 4 12 months.

Jeremiah 5 molds old

1. a. Using objective observation, state at least 2 examples of behaviors that might help you to
determine the childs cognitive development.

Observing Jeremiah behaviors noticed that is he is good cognitive development. At his 5 months
he sits in the carpet with in a plush babys support seats and plays with a car toy. He was picking
up the car and tries to push it. Also his mom put him on his activity walker and bouncer. It does
not move this walker he just sits there and the play stations moves and has different toys that
make sounds.

b. Which of Piagets sensorimotor substages do you think this child is in?

Jeremiah is in the sub stages 3 procedures for making interesting.

2. What toys or materials do you see that would assist the child in moving to the next
sensorimotor substage and why?

Jeremiah starts bouncing on his bouncer and play stations, this will help him to move to next
stage because is start the exploration. Jeremiah enjoy it, also he press the toys that he knows that
plays music. He was playing for while there but he got tired and moms give him a bat because
jeremiahs art to coos his mom, he seems sleepy and tired. While moms prepared the tub brother
assist him and he recognized his brother he is 7 years old and carried the baby Jeremiah and now
he is happy. Time for bad, he has toy in the bat that he plays with it, still put them on his mouth
try to chew them. But he knows those are toys because he looks at them and throw them at the
water and seems the water moves.

3. How is the teacher fostering cognitive growth in this child? (Give examples of available
toys/personal interactions, etc.)
Mom fostering her son by provided a good environment and appropriates toys for his age. Also
she talks to her baby making him to have a relationship between them. Jeremiah try to replies but
still struggling by responses. But it is good that mom talks to her baby Jeremiah and make him
look at her face and ayes offering security.

For this section, observe a child between the ages of 13 19 months.

Leah is 15 months old

1. a. Using objective observation, state at least 2 examples of behaviors that might help you to
determine the childs cognitive development.

Leah already walks so she is an exploration and repetitions stage. Leah likes to do lots of
explorations, she had her toys but likes to go and explore in the surroundings by opens the
cabinets and drawers doors. Mom talks to her and she respites the words, well try to say the
words, but still struggle to say right.

she is the sub stage 5, new means ways to active experimentation.

2. What toys or materials do you see that would assist the child in moving to the next
sensorimotor substage and how would they help?

She has her baby that she plays and pretends that that is real baby, so is in the process of the next
stage, where she pretends something that is no real. Also she has stroller toy where she carries
the baby doll. She likes to go around the environment and walk her baby on it. She is pretending
give the baby a walk, like her mom give to her on her own stroller.

3. How is the teacher fostering cognitive growth in this child? (Examples of available
toys/personal interactions, etc.)

Personal interaction between the mom and daughter is to close. The mom and daughter always
together, Leah has her own space made especially for her. In the living room there is like a play
room where all her toys are there and just have her play there and watch PBS kids channel that
will help Leah with her language or vocabulary. So is a good environment for her with adequate
toys for her age. Also Leah has her little piano where she likes to makes noise with her piano
pretending that she is playing. I believe that this also will help with the developed oh Leah.

writing how the child responded, whether they successfully completed the step, etc.
