    Coulomb's law describes the electrostatic force of attraction or repulsion between electric charges. The law states that the magnitude of the electrostatic force between two point charges is directly proportional to the product of the charges and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. The law can be expressed in vector form to account for the direction of the force as well as the magnitudes of the charges and distance between them.
