Set retarding and water reducing admixture

DESCRIPTION COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH

POZZOLITH 186R is a ready-to-use, liquid admixture for
producing more uniform and predictable quality
concrete. It reduces the quantity of mixing water required
to produce concrete of a given consistency, with greater
economy, for a given strength. Placing and finishing
characteristics are improved because this admixture
retards setting time.
It has been specifically developed for use in Indonesia
and is designed to meet ASTM C494 requirements for
Type B Retarding and Type D Water-Reducing and
Retarding admixtures.
Concrete produced with POZZOLITH 186R will develop
strength rapidly after initial set occurs. If retardation is
within the normal ASTM C494 type B and D
specifications, the concrete will develop higher early (24
hours) and higher ultimate strengths than plain concrete.
DOSAGE
Use at the rate of 300 + 100 ml. per 100 kg cementitious
content for most concrete mixes using average concrete
ingredients.

POZZOLITH 186R admixture will not initiate or promote

corrosion of reinforcing steel in concrete. The admixture
does not contain intentionally added calcium chloride or
chloride-based ingredients.
RECOMMENDED FOR
Recommended for use in all type of concrete where
retardation of set and improved performance, reduced
segregation, bleeding and permeability are desired.
e.g. plain, reinforced, precast or prestressed,
concrete, especially where placing by pump
and when unhanced finishing is desired.
When used in conjunction with other admixtures, each
admixture must be dispensed separately into the mix.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
POZZOLITH 186R used at optimum dose rate modifies
the performance of concrete to provide the following :
In the plastic concrete:
reduced water content for a given workability
superior slump retention
controlled retardation - depending on the dose rate
improved workability, greater pumpability
reduced segregation, bleeding
superior finishing characteristics for slabs and
precast of off-form surface
DISPENSING
1. Introduce either undiluted solution or diluted solution
of POZZOLITH 186R into the mixer at the mix.
2. POZZOLITH 186R solution is part of mixing water.
Adjust mixing water content.
RATE OF HARDENING
The cement content, initial slump, length of time in
transit, temperature of the concrete mix and the ambient
temperature (forms, earth, reinforcement, air, etc.) all
affect the hardening rate of concrete. At higher
temperatures, concrete hardens more rapidly which may
cause problems with placing and finishing unless dose
rate is increased to compensate.
PACKAGING
POZZOLITH 186R is available in 205 litres drum and
bulk.
