1) OBJECTIVE

a) This method statement describes the method and procedure for pipe crossing under road of
Jalan Batu Tiga Lama.
b) The scope of works shall include:
i) Mobilization and installation of 400mm dia. SYABAS pipe, equipment and accessories.

2) MATERIALS

a) Material to be used will be:

i) 400mm dia. SYABAS pipe as certified by consultant and approved by JKR
ii) Crusher run (if necessary)

3) LOCATION OF WORK

a) The location will be at CH355.00b which is 400mm dia. SYABAS new pipe will be connected
with 300mm dia. SYABAS pipe located at the side of Sungai Rasah.

5) CONSTRUCTION METHOD

a) PRE CONSTRUCTION
 i) Request For Inspection (RFI) should be send to let know work will commence to C.O.W or
Resident Engineer (RE).
b) SETTING OUT
i) Setting out the trench way that need to excavate on site
c) MOBILIZATION
i) New 20m 400mm dia. located at the road shoulder will be used as crossing pipe in road

of Jalan Batu Tiga Lama. The pipe will be moved to the site by excavator.
d) EXCAVATION
i) The excavation work will be done on 15 April 2016, Friday night (7.00pm) until 16 April

2016 Saturday morning (5.00am)

ii) Trencing size for the pipe crossing is 20m (L-scew) x 0.6m (W) x 1.2m (D)
iii) The road of Jalan Batu Tiga Lama at appoint CH355.00b will be temporary closed for the

excavation work (before traffic light from Shah Alam). Two flag man standby at each road
way.
iv) Road diversion during the excavation work will be provided in Traffic Management Plan

(refer to TMP).
e) PIPE LAYING PROCEDURE
i) Any existing utilities that cross with the proposed pipe alignment will be protected and

avoided.
ii) After excavation work is finished, 20m length of 400mm dia. SYABAS pipe will be lay

inside the trench.

iii) The pipe trench will be filled with sand and filled with crusher run afterward until it

reaches the existing level of road surface.

6) MACHINERY, EQUIPMENT AND WORKFORCE

a) The following is a list of equipment to be used.
i) Survey equipment
ii) Excavator and backhoe
iii) Welders
iv) Lorry

7) TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT AND SAFETY ASPECT

a) Minimum requirement of signboard as stated in Arahan Teknik (Jalan) 2c/85 shall be placed

on both approach of work area.

 b) Plastic barriers should be arranged closed spacing for excavation area and shall be

maintained in their position until pipe laying work finish. Delineator post should be placed
along the barrier at the excavation area.
c) Traffic management shall be complying to Arahan Teknik (Jalan) 2c/85
d) All site personal shall wear PPE gear.

8) QUALITY CONTROL PROCEDURE

a) All the installation work, reading and measurement taken for the testing shall be witness and

verified by main contractor and consultant representative.
