0 Rainwater Harvesting service

The planning and design of rainwater harvesting system not only provide the
water for various intended uses but it can also provide the stormwater quality
control aspect in urban stormwater management i.e. first flush system, thus
capable of providing a clean, safe and reliable water source. First flush system
remove and wash accumulated contaminants such as bacteria, molds, protozoa
and heavy metals e.g. lead and arsenic. The system shall feed the irrigation
system, toilets, normal bidet tapping. For portable usage, filtration and disinfection
systems are required. For non portable usage, the first flush system is sufficient.

The scope of work for Rainwater Harvesting System (RWH) shall include the
construction and shop drawings, all labour, material, equipment, permits and

services necessary for the whole RHW piping system and fitting installations

installed and maintained so as to allow a cross connection with the potable water
supply. Where a property has both a rainwater tank system and a potable water

supply from a reticulated system, the plumbing for rainwater tank should have a

cross-connection control and backflow prevention.The need for a secure water


supply means that many people want the ability to switch back to the mains water
na

supply if their pump fails;electricity fails or the tank needs to be cleaned.
