Evidence: The time is now

This evidence is divided into two parts: A composition and an audio file. Read the
instructions below and make sure you complete both tasks.

A. Answer the questions below. Use the examples as models of the grammar and
vocabulary you have to use.

1. Why didnt you study English before? (List at least 5 reasons in a

composition.)

Example:

One of the reasons why I didnt study English before it is because I thought it
was too difficult. I didnt understand my English teacher at school and that
was frustrating.
 One of the reasons I did not study English before is because I did not have enough
time. Because the study was leaving a lot of work.

One of the reasons I did not study English before is because I did not have the
necessary implements to develop the activities.

One of the reasons I did not study English before is because it was difficult for me to
learn grammar and intonation in school at school.

One of the reasons why I did not study English before is because where I live there are
no institutes where I teach English properly.

One of the reasons I did not study English before is because I had no inspirations about
traveling to other countries, which I did not see necessary.

2. How different would things be if you had learned English before? (Name and
explain at least 5 things.)

Example:

If I had learned English some years ago I would have accepted a job a
multinational company offered me five years ago. One of the requirements
was to speak English and my level back then was very low.

If I had learned English a few years ago, I would have participated in the international
exchange offered by my school

If I had learned English a few years ago, I would have worked in international trade 3
years ago.

If I had learned English a few years ago, I would have obtained my university degree 2
years ago. One of the requirements was to pass the English test in a virtual way.

If I had learned English a few years ago, I would have joined an international
construction company 6 years ago.

If I had learned English a few years ago, I would have seen the best English language
films, understanding them without the need to read the subtitles.
B. Record an audio file of yourself answering the following questions. Use the
examples as models of the grammar and vocabulary you have to use.

1. Why are you studying English? (List and explain at least 4 reasons.)

Example:

Im studying English because I finally decided that if I want to improve my

professional profile becoming bilingual is essential.

1. I am studying English because the university where I am studying

requires me as a degree requirement.

2. I am studying English because I want to visit other parts of the world

and to know new cultures.

3. I am studying English because it is very important for my professional

development.

4. I am studying English because I have proposed it as a goal of personal

improvement.

2. In what ways are you going to benefit from this learning?

Example:

Being competent in English is going to increase the opportunities of landing a more

satisfying and better-paid job. We live in an international open market and English
is the most important language.

I am studying English because I finally decided that if I want to

improve my professional profile, becoming bilingual is essential.
