I. Companies using the Adaptive Strategizing:

1. Apple Company

Apple is one of the most characteristic cases regarding its route

through the adaptive cycle as its passing form one stage to another
was accompanied with a lot of publicity and drama.

They say that in the United States that anyone born before 1985
probably still thinks reflexively of Apple as a computer company -
one of the pioneers of personal computers and the inventor of the
still-popular "Mac" brand. But if Apple had just remained a computer
company, though, it is uncertain that the company would still even
be in business.

It took only about a year to develop the iPod, but its launch
radically changed the company. Building on the success of this
portable media player, Apple then effectively created the
touchscreen smartphone industry before then moving on to make
the tablet computer concept a real product and an actual success.
Once just a computer company, Apple is now a consumer
electronics giant and whatever Apple's next move will be, nobody is
expecting it to be in the traditional computer space.

Apple company is a great example of the Adaptive Strategizing

since the Gestalt switches are very known to the public and
interestingly they revolve around Steve Jobs relationship with the
company. In this case, it is evident how the Adaptive Cycle model
can explain the dynamic changes in a company. Moreover, it shows
how different types of managers can lead a company into different
phases of the adaptive cycle. For Apples case it is evident that the
equilibrium it was pushed to achieve after its IPO was a short lived
one, as the PC industry was changing rapidly and Apple lacked the
internal variety to deal with it. Currently Apple seems to be more
mature as a company and able to go through a longer release phase
before it is lead to a new crisis.

2. Nokia

Known now as the world's largest cell phone maker, Nokia started
off as a pulp-and-paper company in the mid-1800s before expanding
into power generation around 1900. Nokia ultimately added
operations in fields like rubber and telephone equipment and cables
through a merger in the 1960s. Even more diversification followed,
bringing the company into markets like televisions, computers,
plastics and so on.

As time went on, though, the company increasingly saw better

opportunities in telephone, electronics and radio products, and
ultimately combined these into mobile communications. Once the
company realized the potential of its mobile communications
products, it began to divest and sell those other operations and
Nokia became what it is today - a company focused on
telecommunications technology.

They practice Creative strategies because the company invents new

services the first of its kind in the Philippines. The company relies on
creative people, creative thinking process and a cpnducive
environment.III. Companies using the Ideological Strategizing:

1. Guanxiqian Group, a sales and networking company based in

Hong Kong. The said company is also involved in Hedge Funding
whereas a hedge fund is basically a fancy name for an investment
partnership. It's the marriage of a fund manager, which can often be
known as the general partner, and the investors in the hedge fund,
sometimes known as the limited partners. The limited partners
contribute the money and the general partner manages it according
to the fund's strategy. A hedge fund's purpose is to maximize
investor returns and eliminate risk, hence the word "hedge." If these
objectives sound a lot like the objectives of mutual funds, they are,
but that is basically where the similarities end.

The name "hedge fund" came into being because the aim of these
vehicles was to make money regardless of whether the market
climbed higher or declined. This was made possible because the
managers could "hedge" themselves by going long or short stocks
(shorting is a way to make money when a stock drops).

The said company is practicing Ideological Strategies. Earlier, Xian

Gaza caught the attention of a lot of people from the social media
community over a rare and lavish act of asking the actress for a
coffee date. Xian Gaza is currently the president and the Chief-
executive-officer of the Guanxiqian Group, a company that is based
in Hongkong that deals with hedge funds.
He captioned his post: They say its first time in Philippine history. I
say: Thats how special you are to me. Erich Gonzales, will you drink
coffee with me? and with hashtags #PleaseSayYesErich
#CoffeeWithErich.
Erich Gonzales, on the other hand, confirmed that she will attend
the invitation. While his proposal gushed the netizens, it also gained
bitter reaction from the netizens.Xian Gaza was slammed by several
Facebook users and accused him for bragging his act.Meanwhile,
he explained his side on the issue that he is just using the
Kapamilya star for promoting his business interests. Though denying
that he doesnt use Erich Gonzales as a part of Marketing Strategies
on his company, in the mind of a typical Filipino they are now
familiarized with Guanxiqian Group. Their tactics involves
Evangelization wherein they spread the word in a written or visual
mode.

2. Coca Cola- Another company that practices Ideological strategy is

Coca Cola. They practice protective isolation particularly to retain
original thought their recipe for creating Coca Cola. The original
copy of the formula is kept in an undisclosed SunTrust Bank in
Atlanta. To keep SunTrust on the side, Coke gave them some 48.3
million shares of stock as well as having executives from each
company sit on the other's board of directors.

The company has policies surrounding the secret that range from
the paranoid (the two executives who knew the formula could not fly
on the same plane) to the bizarre (no one could view the formula
without God, Jesus and Elvis present or something to that extent).

All of this is pointless in the end. Coca-Cola still derives some of its
flavor from the coca plant; the same place that cocaine comes from.
Due to the obvious drug related issues that would arise from
importing lots of coca plant into America legally, only one company
has government permission to do it. That company is Coca-Cola. So
even if someone broke into the bank and managed to take the
formula, they would never be able to produce an exact Coke rip-off.
