This document provides instructions for an engineering drawing and CAD assessment exercise involving redrawing the front elevation of a house shown in Figure 1. Students are asked to redraw the elevation with dimensions and an appropriate drawing limit, add grid lines, use layers and colors to distinguish objects, change hatch patterns as preferred, print to scale on A4 paper with hidden construction lines, and insert a title block.

Assesment: Exercise 6 (Chapter 6) Edition 1 Topic: CAD Application In Civil Engineering Drawing Date: July 2017
Instruction :
Figure 1 shows an elevation drawing of a house. You are required to:
a) Redraw the front elevation using appropriate dimensions.
b) Set an appropriate drawing limits as to fit in the whole set of drawing. c) Draw the grid lines using appropriate line type and choose dimmer color such as dark grey. d) Use different layer to indicate different object. You may use different colors for each layers such as red for wall, blue for door, orange for furniture and etc. e) You may change the hatch pattern by choosing your own preference of hatch pattern that is SUITABLE with its function on condition that it should be in an appropriate scale. f) Print in an A4 paper using 1:100 scale. Make sure the construction lines are set hidden / switch off the layer. g) Insert title block into your drawing.
