Functional electrical stimulation (FES); At a structural and
functional level is fundamental to understand how and when
FES can be used better to support the effect of hand surgery,
both pre and postoperative. We discuss the FES principles
and how FES improves functional outcome after surgical
reconstruction of how it is at one time giving the
improvement results with deep observations in the
rehabilitation of patients with multiple-goal treatments.
Functional electrical stimulation has a great influence on the

La estimulacin elctrica funcional (FES); en un nivel
estructural y funcional es fundamental para entender
cmo y cundo se puede utilizar mejor la FES que apoyan
el efecto de la ciruga de la mano, tanto pre y
postoperatorio. Se discute los principios de FES y cmo
FES mejora funcional resultado despus de la
reconstruccin quirrgica de como a un tiempo va dando
los resultados de mejora con observaciones profundas en
la rehabilitacin de los pacientes con tratamientos de
objetivos mltiples.
La estimulacin elctrica funcional tiene una gran
influencia en la sinapsis de las neuronas motoras; el
aumento de la amplitud de corriente genera una
contratacin de unidades motrices, el aumento de la
anchura de pulso lleva consigo una activacin de la
unidad motora y el aumento de la frecuencia una mayor
activacin y reclutamiento de reas musculares. En el

-En base a los estudios realizados se observ que realizar
la estimulacin antes de la ciruga al msculo donante
aumenta la fuerza y mejora la condicin preoperatoria.
-El uso de la estimulacin funcional elctrica durante las
actividades postoperatorias puede mejorar la
coordinacin con otros msculos de las extremidades
superiores mejorando asi la realizacin de las actividades
diarias
