Background of the Course: This course is designed to develop an understanding of the basic
concepts Computer hardware and Computer Software as Computer Systems. The main goal of
this course is to provide a strong foundation in Computer System and an introduction to the
current trends in this area.
Course Objectives: Through this course it is intended to familiarize students with Computer
Hardware, Software, Operating Systems, Computer Algorithms, Information Technology,
Computer Networks, Web Technology, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Supply Chain
Management (SCM), Management Information Systems (MIS), Cloud Computing, and
Applications of Data Mining and Artificial Intelligence in Management. Hands on sessions
using Microsoft Excel will assist the students in handling and analyzing raw data.
Course Outcomes: After completion of the course students will be able to understand the structure and
organization of computer systems. By learning the topics like Introduction to Computer and
Information Technology, Applications of Information Technology in Management, Information
Technology in Enterprises Solutions, Evolving Areas and Intelligent Software and Introduction to
Excel, the students will be aware of the fundamentals of Information Technology and its application in
management study clearly.
