Work Plane Manager

1. Purpose and description


Use this extended application to define and manage the work planes in a model.

2. System requirements
Tekla Structures version: 17.0
.NET Framework version: 4.0
Environments: Default
Languages: English

3. Installation
1. Download the Work Plane Manager installation package from the Tekla Extranet.
2. Run the installation package.

4. Usage
To use the application:
1. Open a Tekla model.
2. If the Work Plane Manager toolbar is not visible, follow the steps:
a. Click Tools > Customize.
b. Select the Work Plane Manager toolbar and check the Visible check box.
3. Click on the Work Plane Manager button.
4. The Work Plane Manager dialog window will open.

5. To create a work plane.


Click View > Set work plane > select one option for creating the work plane.

6. Click the part (beam, column, etc.) or pick the defining points for creating the work
plane.
7. Enter the name of the work plane in the Name field. (eg. Work Plane)
8. Enter a description of the work plane in the Description field. (eg. global)
9. Click the Save button to save the new work plane.
10. The created work plane will appear in the Work Plane List field.

5. Application properties

5.1. Save button


Use the button to save the created work planes.
If the given name already exists, a warning message will appear:
'File . already exists. Overwrite?'

If the given name contains illegal characters, the program will replace
the illegal characters with underbars.

Note: The button is not active when the Name and Description fields
are blank.

5.2. Set button


Use the button when in the Work Plane List is selected a work plane to set the defined
plane.
Note: The button is not active when no row is selected.

5.3. Delete button


Delete an existing work plane.
Note: The button is not active when no row is selected.

6. Additional information
If Tekla Structures is not open you will get the fallowing message:
'Please Open TeklaStructures 17.0 and the model'.
If Tekla Structures 17.0 is open but the model is not opened yet you will get the
same message as if Tekla Structures is not opened meaning:
'Please Open TeklaStructures 17.0 and the model'.
